Good on the Proteas for the guard of honour, really fantastic gesture. They're a side that's a lot harder to hate than India & the pommies

Watson and Warner can not both bat top 3, they are both one day batsman who are just as likely to get out on their 100th ball as they are on their 1st ball. Watson must have one of the worst conversion rates of turning 50s into 100s, surely he has to be shafted down the order.

For SL: Khawaja at 3, Clarke at 4, Huss at 5 and Watson at 6. I know Clarke has struggled at 4 in the past, but really we have no other options unless we drop Watson which will never happen.

we need 8 partnerships of 68 runs to win.

The old Punter is at the pitch!

He's keen to put together an innings to make a DVD with sales to rival Steve Waugh's SCG DVD

Really moving stuff when the Saffers formed the guard of honour for Ponting. Similar to when the Poms did it for Langer for his final test.

Given the enormity of the situation I bit the bullet and paid the stupid fee in the vodafone app to watch this game on my phone. Hopefully Ponting gets a score and makes it an astute purchase
