Cowan is slowly earning my respect.

IMO his long term spot in the team is a lot more secure than Warners.

Cowan is the blocker we've been looking for since katich retired

Hussey will also be difficult to replace. Doolan for Tasmania looks like a blocker

Not everyone on the team is a blazing bat like Clarke

If you really do want to pick on form how about a certain someone who has scored more runs at a better average...
The downside to Khawaja in test cricket is he gets easily bogged down because his scoring areas are limited

The series against new zealand last year NZ tied him down

edit- oh dear

FFS. Cowan got a little too trigger happy. Didn't he see the fieldsman there? As Lawry said, he did all the hard work only to f**k it up to an ordinary ball.

Good start Eddy. Make it a big 100 and give us at least something to cheer in this terrible, terrible match (outside of farewelling Punter)

Edit: Oh FFS.

We'll be rolled by stumps comfortably

Geez that's almost throwing your wicket away. He knew there was 2 men out there for that.. Steyn celebrates like he is constipated.

Cowan does all the hard work then falls for the bouncer trap hook, line and sinker.

I still have faith while these two are in. Our most inform batsmen. If they get 150 each we're within two hundred...

FMD. I just realised how that sounds. We need the 2 batsmen at the crease to get 150 EACH for us to have even the tiniest of chances.

Three big scores from Clarke, Hussey and Wade is Australia's only hope. Otherwise, we're goooooooooooorne.

Mate the almost non-existant chances of us going anywhere close to winning this disappeared when Warner got out on the 2nd ball of the day. This could be a 400+ run defeat here.

Hussey won't be going anywhere just yet. He's still got at least another 12 months at test level. I'd give him until the end of next summer's Ashes.

Have to be careful not to have him in the team too long. Otherwise the rest of the team is carrying a liability , like the case with Ponting
