I would love to see Ponting become a professional golfer, I have heard he is good enough
bunniesfail didn't say he liked them ( probably does though :sarcasm: ), and I certainly am not a fan but I wouldn't call them wannabe's.
Good Charlotte is one of the biggest bands in the world.
Thats why they play the big venues like Luna Park and Festival Hall in Melbourne.....
He's Tasmanian. He's primarily an AFL fan. I've heard rumours of him being interested in being President/Chairman of his favourite team.I'd like to see him take Slats position on The Footy Show. Heard he's patron of the Rabbitohs.
Offtopic, but no I'm not a huge fan of Good Charlotte. But like them or not they are a major international band.
Ontopic, Captain Fantastic and The Ageless One are still there. We still have a chance.
Agreed, his average finishes under 52 when at one stage he was averaging over 60. His average doesn't do his talent justice but he has no one to blame but himself. He had been in terminal decline Since Roach sconned him.Like Haydos, Gilly and other great players, Ponting - as great of a player as he is - will be remembered for staying on a year too long. Age caught up with him and like Haydos, the number of times he was dismissed because of lack of footwork and being trapped on the crease was indicative of this. I think after the Adelaide test did he realise that he wasn't going to make it to the Ashes, and would've been minced meat for the likes of Anderson/Broad/Bresnan/Tremlett etc.
The bigger question is who will take his spot for the upcoming series vs Sri Lanka, as well as the tour of India (which occurs before the Ashes). On form, I would say Khawaja.

Point is he's more likely to be on the AFL Footy Show a year from now than the NRL one.
Wannabe Popstars more like it, Good Charllotte are a steaming pile of shit.you may not like them but would hardly call good charlotte wannabe rockstars.
Captain Fantastic and The Ageless One

100% agree with you. Although his decline started after that 1st Ashes test in Cardiff (he's only scored three centuries since then, one of them was after being dropped on 0 vs Pakistan) where his average was 56.68 at the time in July 2009,
he was never ever the same batsman against fast bowling when Roach rattled him in Perth IIRC.
His peak average was 60.07 vs England during December 2006. So, yeah, that's is quite a big drop from 60.07 to 51.85 over the space of a few years.
Well that applies to most humans on the planet.Yes, I know he's got a vested interest in the North Melbourne Kangaroos, but I remember he was also involved with the Rabbitohs (even though he's Tasmanian, he now lives in NSW. Wollongong IIRC).
Nevertheless, even if he's primarily an AFL fan, he's still do a 10x better job at co-hosting the NRL Footy Show than Slats.
Except you.Well that applies to most humans on the planet.
