Have to be careful not to have him in the team too long. Otherwise the rest of the team is carrying a liability , like the case with Ponting
I guess my consideration towards Hussey is that unlike Ponting, he was a late bolter (didn't crack the test team until he was 30). However, Hussey, even at 37, has been a fantastic form as of late and as I said, he at least makes the Ashes tour and at the very latest (depending on his form), I'd keep him until the SCG test vs England in January 2014 just so we have some much needed experience in the middle order. We can't make the same mistake like last 2010/11 Ashes and use a marquee tournament to blood new players. We paid the price for treating such an event with a lot of disrespect by handing out baggy green caps like Weet Bix cards. I'm pretty sure we learnt from our mistake in that regard. The bottom line, whoever we blood in the SL series is who we should stick with for the Ashes tour (and tour of India, which I heard we have next year)
Watson though (much to the chagrin of Lockyno1) needs to move down the order if he's to stay in the side. We simply have not got our value for money from his batting and we need to get a lot more bowling out from him. I'd play him at 6, which is where he started in the side a few years ago.
