Murphy hasn't done much yet
I agree with you, but I have a strong feeling that's the direction the national selectors are heading towards in the aftermath of the PM XI match at Canberra, with the constant spruiking of Murphy in the media, from commentators, from current players such as Lyon etc.

The only thing that would foil the plan is if Murphy got injured or as I said, another bolter appears in Shield cricket.

They promote players quick to test side but discard them just as quick. India will be tough for rookie legspinner

Need to roll these 3 merkins sharpish to be any chance of rolling the 10 merkins again sharpish. Unless it's happening with the new ball, the bald duo won't be much help.

The problem with having the BOAT rusted on like a dead barnacle for so long is that no one else has done much, tbh.

We've refused to give any other spinners chances or development opportunities. Murphy's shown enough to go on a tour

Have we forgotten? We have the ever reliable ever ready Jon Holland to take on the Indians 🤓

The Aust A tour to SL mid year we took Murphy, TSangha , Holland and Kuhnemann for two unofficial tests

Sangha bowled us to victory in the first test with 4 second innings wickets (He was subbed on for Kuhnemann for the 2nd innings). Murphy took 4 in the first dig

We won the second test . Sangha out bowled Holland. Murphy didnt play

I think Tanveer should be seriously looked at , though I think he is still too green, plus out injured at the moment i think

Yeah I like Sangha but he's injured and hasn't had an FC game since that tour. His record isn't as good as Murphy at this stage but they've only played a handful of FC games so it's not really indicative of much.

I also think, on the subject, we're well past the days where we can wait 30 FC games to blood players. The way the Shield has been reduced to a second rate comp lately they just don't play that much, nor is it a benefit IMO.
