This is the 2nd innings. This should be Lyon Time. And it's not. He lacks anything even resembling penetration.

On a pitch that isn't fantastic for quicks this is where we need him and he's got nothing.

All of a sudden they could be even with us with just 1 wicket down. They could post a very competitive total that we'll need to chase on day 4 and we'll be facing a real spinner on a day 4 dry wicket.

Lyon is a liability. BUT the frustrating thing is there is no other option. I really hope someone steps in the remaining shield games. If we have no other full time spinner we're going to struggle in India.

I have said it before, he needs a doosra, lets be honest here, pure offies don't do well in Australia, even Swann who is so much better it isn't funny didn't do well here (averaged 40+ from memory).

I am looking forward to Boyce and Zampa getting rid of Lyon in the future, he is rubbish...to think Dilshan looked better is a disgrace!

Lyon is depressing me, he has the PERFECT off-spinner breeze and a super dry deck that is turning and he's bowling it flat and full, what a f**kwit.

Karunaratne goes BOOM. Brings up his 50 with a big 6 off lyon.

And on Lyon, as well as needing another delivery he needs to flight it more often. All he does is fire it in fast to try to get through the over without being costly. Then he's almost always given a bowl to the tail to pad his stats.

we won the series, we're a million runs ahead, we can do whatever we want b*tch:lol::lol::lol:
Your perspective on this game is so far off base.

Their batsmen are in, they're set, they look comfortable, they are rapidly getting towards a lead with only one wicket down. We're not troubling them right now.

Looks like Wade just dropped another one...cant remember the last time a keeper made this many mistakes. His reaction times are so bad.

Gilly retired after dropping one. Maybe Wade should do the same, or bat at #6 as a fulltime batsman and bring in someone that can keep.

I saw Zampa last night at the WACA and even though it was only a T20 game I thought he looked alright and definitely a prospect for the future

The thing I like is the fact that he flights the ball, he isn't scared of being belted for 6. This is the issue with Lyon..tosses it up...belted...but then bowls darts to just be economical. The other thing I like about Zampa is he has variations- have seen him in grade cricket a fair bit.
