My gut tells me they just won't be batting first. We will. The plodder or the Halfmanhalfmonkey to get out early. Then Hughesy to come in for a big innings.

Its an statement on how shitful a keeper Wade is that people are welcoming back Hads with open arms.

The howls for his axing had become a gale just prior to Wade's inclusion ,and I think justifiably so, its just Wade has been a poor replacement.

so the talk of Wade and Haddin playing has been dispensed with?

I heard Clarke yesterday suggesting both would play, with Haddin as a specialist batsmen.

I'd be inclined to make Haddin keeper and Wade selected as a specialist bowler.

Elyse Perry is a better choice than Watto, Hughes and Maxwell combined.

And Healy's niece as keeper not so bad either.

Hey, it's revolutionary.

I think we would welcome any retiree of the last 5 years back into the side. As a matter of fact if we dug up 'the Don' I reckon he'd be good for a few more runs than the current lot!

Just thought I'd see how Hughes and Watson compare to Bangladesh's Ashraful over their last (about) 1000 test runs

Ashraful - 42 Inns (2 Not out) - 1004 runs @ 25.10 - HS 190, 50's 1, 100's 3
Watson - 33 Inns (1 Not Out) - 1004 Runs @ 31.38 - HS 95, 50's 8, 100's 0
Hughes - 37 Inns (1 Not Out) - 980 Runs @ 27.22 - HS 126, 50's 4, 100's 1

Paints a pretty clear picture.

Ashraful has got out for less than 20 a total of 22 times in his last 35 innings (5 ducks)
Hughes has got out for less than 20 a total of 21 times in his last 35 innings (4 ducks)

Yep agreed, pretty sure Hads didn't "retire" however!

Surely you jest?

The only reason anyone would play Haddin ever is because the existing keeper is even more crap behind the stumps than he is. Who would have thought that could happen...

Hopefully all Australian cricketers have completed their daily 'wellbeing' questionnaire this morning, dressed appropriately and made it on time to the team bus. Otherwise, Australia's first ever test forfeit could be on the cards.

8.40am Mohali was asked for three reasons as to why it should host Test cricket. Mohali missed the deadline, and it is raining there now. Welcome to our coverage of the third Test of this Border-Gavaskar Trophy. I am expecting the toss - scheduled to take place in 20 minutes - to be delayed
