Hughes gets an edge for 4, a misfield for 4 and overthrows for 4... all in the same over.

Go easy on India Hughsie!

If he can get himself in against the seamers and be set when the spinners arrive he could do some damage.

How good does Hughes look. 16 of 12. He is taking control.

He is a confidence batsman. He got a duck in the 1st innings against SA in 2009, then he got a 50 and 2 100s in his next 3 digs.

If he gets on a roll here he'll be on about 80 at stumps.

This is round 4 son... with the score 3-0 to Ashwin so far.
Hughes just hit a spinner for 2 around the corner off his pads.

Probably the weakest shot in his arsenal against the type of bowling he is weakest against.

If he can do that competently he just might be capable of doing something special here.

Cowan gone. Plum.

Does anyone else feel sorry for Hughes that this weirdo is on his bandwagon????
I'm not a weirdo. I just believe I see world class talent in him at a time where we have very little world class talent around. That's why I'm desperate for him to succeed.

Warner 2
Cowan 8
Hughes 23*

At the start of the innings you would have been given about 100 to 1 odds that Hughes would get more than double what Warner and Cowan combined to get.

Not plumb at all I reckon
It was only 3 quarters of the way up middle.
