theres been a lot of positive regarding clarkes captaincy, and his 60 in the 1st test (bowlers paradise) was as good as any ton he has made

bring on SA

If anyone needs to lift their game, its punter

This has to be Ponting's last summer if he doesn't want to go he should be forced

I'm not sold on Lyon.

Even his 5-for was a bit iffy, none of them were bowlers wickets, mostly gifts from the batsman.

Still has to be O'Keefe for South Africa.

I can't see anyone on this thread who has been critical of Clarke..:?

Another forum I was on last night, they seemed to think the ton he got was not under pressure and the Clarke is a crap player of spin. He is only in it for himself and will be no good. I got banned for calling someone a scumbag I shall not be returning to that forum.

Grandstand on Facebook??? That place is full of clueless Victorians and idiots with no clue. Say anything positive about someone from NSW and you get abused.

I wonder if much will be said about the antics of the Sri Lankans on this tour and particularly in this match?

Doubt it - that's usually reserved for when the Aussies misbehave.

He might get a double ton vs the kiwis and secure his place for another 12 months

As long as you tip it :D

lol Grandstand on facebook is crazy. There was one Victorian woman a year ago who had an epic meltdown over the cricket, it really was a Mong hall of famer.

They all go on there whinging about Hodge, Dussey, any other shit Victorian. FFS one of them was bitching that Darren Berry should have played test cricket over Ian Healy. There needs to be Grandstand Victorian and Grandstand Australia.

Still this morning on radio I heard a lot of people trying to talk down Clarke, his captaincy and his hundred.

In one way its fair enough. He has been in horrible form leading up to this test series. Plus we are playing a SL side who are in a bit of internal rabble. Having said that, credit where credit is due, he can only play and captain whats in front of him. Good results vs SA, NZ and India in our next few test series should convert the knockers. Back to failing with the bat and series losses then, same ole same ole...

Victorians probably ringing every radio station nationwide.

Clarke is flashy, drives a nice car, pulls birds, has money but at heart the guy is a fighter with the blade in his hand. Captaincy could well mature him in to a hybrid of the Waugh brothers in the #5 role.

You know you're struggling when other Victorians are shooting you down

If there was ever a cricketer more people have NFI about it is Clarke, how can you criticise Clarke and his captaincy since he has been fulltime captain since? well?

And everyone has form slumps, Clarke did very well in this series, he was in foreign territory with a rookie opening bowler, rookie spinner, no Punter in the 2nd test and looked dominant in all 3 tests in the end.

I dont think thats the case at all otherwise Warne would have copped the same treatment. If he was a lot more consistant than he has been over recent years then there would be a lot more respect from the puplic.

Warne is considered the best spinner of all time. Hardly a fair comparison. And he never had the captaincy. Clarke has been one of the more consistent players.
