Why the f**k can't we get some of this wristy SL tweakers on an asylum seeking boat to Australia?

Oh wait...we'd just lock 'em up.

Can't we get World Vision Australia to set up a camp and find us a couple to nurture??!?

They would do crap on our decks

We need to go back and have different pitches across our states, and more important as well, have our test players play more than 1 shield game a year

Alright, we have a glimmer of hope

Smithy and Warner need to bat this middle session, no more than 1 wicket loss in this session and 180 on the board,
ideally 2/200 leading into play after tea, now that would set up this test match like nothing else

Barely 2 hours later

Congratulations to SL, well played and well deserved in all 3 tests, Destroyed Australia really.

Hopefully some of the youngsters that performed well can come good for the future for them

First off.. wow, Moises Henriques is test standard? As a batsman predominantly? The bloke averages around 30 at first class level. He's barely state standard.

Adam Voges, the old Don-esque average is coming down. What would it actually have been if Richard Illingworth wasn't a blind old coot who couldn't judge a no ball if one bit him in the coit?

Old mate Nevill, some gutsy innings in his first couple of series, but seems to be a seriously poor player of spin.

Steve Smith, a few of the shots that lad played in the series are chuckle worthy. Never seen a first rate test bat get out to such horrific shots with such monotony.

All I wanted was to get home from work and watch a couple of hours of day 5 cricket.

Left work at 1/100 odd and get home and it's 8/140 odd.

WTF happened to the start??

When the tail starts at no5 though I guess it's inevitable

The shot Smith played just further proved my point from earlier, after a good start we needed a tough 30 or 40 from him to help push Warner to a ton. Instead he gets out trying to cut a ball from middle and leg. How many times did he get himself out this series??? I'd say at least half. That's not good enough from your captain and premier batsman. As I said earlier no one in this team can score tough runs no one.

The irony is the great AB was watching it. I saw him chatting to Warner, but you'd think you'd want to be tough and gritty like him. He must shake his head watching that. But he knows a good thing or two about winning and losing.

Good thing about AB he is pretty good in the box too. Likes to call it how it is and give credit where due. Probably why he doesn't work foe Nein.

That was a terrible collapse, pretty depressing watching that

No 3 in the rankings is a bit flattering for us considering that performance.

We have home tests vs South Africa and Pakistan coming up, then 4 tests in India after our summer

Wouldn't be surprised if we work our way back to number 1 again, then smack back down again after the indian series. Having said that if Pakistan come over with their heads in the right place, and SA beat us again here (they have last 2 test series they have been here - granted no great jacques kallis this time) then we will drop further down than n03.

Credit to Herath. Proof that fatties still have a place in world cricket and you don't have to chuck to be a successful sri Lankan spinner.

Nothing will change with Australia. We smash everyone on benign australian pitches (especially warner whose average at home is 60 and away in the 30s) think we're world class, yet when the ball deviates a fraction we are shown up.

Without mitch starc this would have been a whole lot uglier

Boof said we may have to look at a "horses for courses" type selection policy when it comes to sub continent games, as some of our regular batsmen dont bat too well on the slow low turners.

So I guess we can more of Darsh and Henriques in those games, as Henriques made runs there about 2 years ago. Never mind the fact that he has not played any international cricket since and hardly any first class cricket in the past 12 months.

Is it any wonder he failed ? Cant really blame the batsman for the, he should never have been selected.

SL certainly talked themselves up during the interviews, but in reality, who else do they beat 3-0? I can only think of West indies, I think both SA and England play better on sub continent decks

This series for SL might be a false illusion (hope not). They were certainly good, but we were dreadfull

Gritty runs don't seem to be valued in the Aust set up. All flat track champions and style over substance

Sounds awful but I wonder if Border would even get picked if he was around now

Australia needed the Big Show

He would have gotten those tough runs.

Actually, all jokes aside, if Jason Gillespie was still around I'd have picked him to bat at no.4 in this Aussie side on these pitches.

He scored a double ton in Bangladesh. No current Aussie bat could do that.

That's how far the batting has fallen overseas.
