I think something that makes the international Union jerseys look better than league ones is the fact that they only have one sponsor. Should restrict International jerseys to one sponsor I say, gives the jersey a little more class.

Yeah true - that's kinda what makes the World Cup kits in particular look good; no sponsors at all.

I've often wished I could buy team jerseys without sponsors... honestly don't know why they don't do it for fans.

Given the choice between decent match payments for the players and sponsors on the jersey, at the moment league has to give the priority to the sponsors. It's understandable.

Yeah I know - not a major issue for the Roos of course given they only have one sponsor now.

All the same, I'd prefer it if I were able to buy roosters, kangaroos jerseys etc that were sponsorless... Heck I'd even be happy to pay extra for the right not to be a billboard.

I prefer jerseys with sponsors. They look cheap without them.

That's an interesting way of looking at it. Personally it makes me feel like a corporate whore. I mean if I were a player and it was my job, then I'd have no problem with it, but as a fan I'm not really interested in advertising a brand like VB everywhere I go... James Squire, maybe, but not VB.

But that's what the sponsors pay their money for.

The sponsors pay their money to have their brand appear every time the team runs out, and that's how they get their exposure, not by guys like me wearing it to the pub on game day.

I agree with RoosTah - it's fine to have them on the basic fan jersey, but you ought to have the option to buy them without.

If the sponsors name wasn't on supporters' shirts then it would be a reduced deal. As mentioned earlier fans are walking billboards and clubs will get better deals if they offer sponsors the opportunity to have their name/logo on X thousands of shirts.

Granted. But that still doesn't explain why they don't have an option for a jersey without them. After all, plenty of other team merchandise comes sponsor free, so why not a jersey? As I said, they could even charge more for it.

I love advertisments IF they are done properly.

chucking a stupid logo in the middle that completely screws up the colour coding of the jersey is stupid and i'd never buy one.

for example, I like the meriton logo on the tigers jersey its integrated nicely. Or the steggles for chooks, Pirtek for Eels.

that star casino ad on souths looks crap but.
