When he bowls full and straight he looks good. He's not going to blast sides out but when he gets it up he seems to get that little bit off the deck to pick up nicks. It's just when he gets the idea that he's this fearsome intimidator that is going to put the fear of God into batsmen that he looks like a complete genius. In Brisbane he put the ball up on a good length and got 6 (should have had 7). Here he's done the same and clearly looks the best of our bowlers. Everything between those two innings though...

Maybe we just need some sort of taser device built into his boots. If he starts digging it in we give him a zap to get him back pitching it up.

No doubt there'd be many in here who would be pretty happy with that even if they'd never admit it, given it'll bring our saviour super Doug back into the frame and all that. He, Clarke, Smith and Hughes (if he gets yet another chance) might actually do something to contribute on their home ground, albeit when the series is more than likely to be over.....

Johnson has bowled pies..but that is the issue with our attack..he is the only bloke capable of ripping through a lineup. Get Copeland in there ASAP, he is one bloke in domestic cricket that does it.

Yep big wrap. That is what he needs beaten into his thick skull as the way to bowl all the time. He isn't Thommo or Marshall or Ambrose. He isn't going to scare batsmen. But when he attacks the sticks he'll do a fine job and take plenty of wickets.

Although your comments re: some players show up your basic lack of knowledge quite clearly, I do agree with you re: Hilfenhaus.

Harris fills the same role as he does but with much better results.
