Hilf has to go before Sydney. Looks like Harris is injured too.

I'd have an attack of Siddle/Copeland/Bollinger/O'Keefe.

Then again, I'm rational.

Johnson has bowled pies..but that is the issue with our attack..he is the only bloke capable of ripping through a lineup. Get Copeland in there ASAP, he is one bloke in domestic cricket that does it.

Hauritz should have played this Test instead if Hilfenhaus.

Hughes shouldn't have been there, nor Steve Smith.

I can't remember the last time the selectors got it right.

But our biggest problem this year? Our two key batsmen - Ponting and Clarke - are past it and out of form respectively.

I'd drop everyone except Hussey, Watson and Haddin. Just play the three of them and nobody else.

Although your comments re: some players show up your basic lack of knowledge quite clearly, I do agree with you re: Hilfenhaus.

Harris fills the same role as he does but with much better results.

Basic knowledge??

Like saying Hughes technique is f**ked... Smith ain't ready, Clarke's woefully out of form, your spinners are numpties, Hilfenhaus and Johnson are rubbish, but at least Johnson has 1 good test a year

And for the Bolliner fan club - he's ordinary too - taking wickets against NZ, Windies and Pakistan proves little

I think we can still win this game

Sunhsine 51
Hughes 101
Ponting 301 not out
Clarke 110
Hussey 0
Smith 44
Haddin 34
Johnson 0
Harris 0
Siddle 20 not out
extras 39

8/700 dec mid day 5

Then bowl poms out on a spin demon deck for under 150 with under 5 overs left

Smith 6/45

This is true. I hope Katich is fit by the time the next test comes around. I hope Khawaja comes in as well.

Smith needs to go out - he's neither a batsman nor a bowler. Bring in O'Keefe for the injured Harris to bat at 8 and be a front line bowler. Bring in Khawaja for Smith to bat at 6. Katich back in for Hughes and Bollinger for Hilfenhaus.

1-Katich
2-Watson
3-Ponting
4-Clarke
5-Hussey
6-Khawaja
7-Haddin
8-O'Keefe
9-Johnson
10-Siddle
11-Bollinger

I think that side gives us a real chance in Sydney. No chance though.

You take wickets against whatever opposition is thrown up against you - don't recall his teammates doing the same?

But that's your tactic isn't it? It's obvious the shortcomings of Johnson and co. and you're quick to point out the obvious, but have trouble complimenting an Aussie that does well. Like Bollinger. So you find excuses for his good performances.

I'd actually consider putting Khawaja at 3 and moving the rest down one. I think both Ponting and Clarke would benefit from it.

That bwoling line-up is getting closer to the mark, Would replace Siddle with Harris when he is fit.

In the meantime I'd probably bring Hauritz back in given his recent form which would also allow O'Keefe to come back into the NSW side for a bit longer.

Hughes seems to have a better shot selection today, definitely playing straighter
