If there was ever a time we could buy a 10th-wicket partnership such as the one Phil Hughes and Ashton Agar produced two years ago at this ground, now is the time.

Imagine these guys against Marshall, Garner or Ambrose??

They would be lucky to get to 5

Yeah, I was just thinking what Hadlee would do in these conditions

Horrible technique, and horrible inability to show any discipline - seriously, what were they thinking - you have to adapt and bat out some time

which gets back to the whole point I brought earlier about the flat-tracks dished up.

Facing Marshall/Garner/Ambrose on a green-top 30yrs ago would make our team look like kindergarten students playing against men. You can also add Walsh/Bishop/Akram/Younis/Holding/Willis/Hadlee/Dev/Botham/Khan to that bowling list as well

What a call it was to take Voges over Burns, too. When will we stop picking old blokes who were never up to it?

This.

At 25, Burns was/is the future of this side and showed more than enough in his two tests vs India to book a ticket for the West Indies/England tours vs a 35 yr old who, although had been playing very well in Shield cricket, we would've only got 1-2yrs max out of in the test side.
