Were it biologically possible I would have Steve Smith's babies. Champion innings with good support from Wade and Faulkner bashing at the death.

To think Steve Smith wasn't good enough to make the XI in game 1 (poor call that) and only made it due to Clarke being out.

Watson and Maxwell are major concerns, Bailey and Finch aren't consistent

Finch is ok. 9 scores over 50 in 33 innings and more hundreds than fifties. He's not too concerning for mine because his role in getting us off to a flyer with Warner tends towards inconsistency. Middle order is still a bit of a worry, needs more starch if the openers do fail.

I wonder what we do on Sunday now.
Imo Smith needs to play Shield this week in preparation for the India test series. As do the others that are likely to be selected.

Alternatively, give Smith the C for the dead rubber. If Haddin and Clarke both don't pull up it'd be nice to get an idea of how he handles it/give him a bit of confidence beforehand....
