Our batting has been poor for a decade, some great batting wickets and a few world class batsman have been covering over some giant sized cracks.
Smith couldn't keep carrying them like that in conditions other than the flattest. Reminded me of Crowe for us in the 90s everything on the one guy

Lol.

We've all been there though. Cricket is a cruel game.

Best one I saw was a keeper. Legspinner was skied straight up, keeper calls the catch, settles under it....suddenly the ball goes into the sun, he screams out "F**K IT!" and reels away.

The ball landed 10cm from the edge of the pitch.

Batsman on zero skied a ball first ball of the innings and our keeper called “mine”.

Keeper didn’t even have to move, ball comes down and goes right through his gloves onto the ground.

Batsman goes into to score a 100.

A guy i played with dropped a guy on 3 - a sitter. Went on to get a double ton in 40 degree heat. Never played again.

I lost a GF as WK dropping 10th wicket who needed 3 to win. Next balll...4. Might get a tick or baggy green these days.

4 starts out of 7 for the batsman and one bloke who really should have gone on and made a big score.

Simply not good enough.

You've been waiting years for us to get comprehensively flogged on home soil, be honest

Ah f**k.

I dropped the number eleven in a fourth grade grand final. Was only my second season back from destroying my knee and I was fat. So movement was a worry. Called one I would have got to as fit Baz, wound up diving, and coming up a good two metres short.

Would have been an easy grab for the bloke at point. Thankfully they needed 20 odd and we bowled the bloke the next over, otherwise I would have deadset retired.

79 as the high score in the series is damming

Really only Cummins, Lyon and Paine have come out of the series with any credit

Harris to a degree as the newbie, the experience of Khawaja, Marshes, Starc and Hazelwood should feel bad... real chance for the bowling to make a statement and they didn't either

Haha.

We should have a cricket stories thread.

Then we can send them all to Chapelli. Give him some fresh material.

Would need more meander for Chaps.

Segues from John Snow to world series to some numpty fifth string WI quick who coulda shoulda to some desperate alcoholic spinner from Norwood who collected rest stop tea spoons before thinking Milo bars at the concession store next door to the horse blanket shop ate onions and took a wicket.

I was lucky enough to see Hadlee do it TBH - unless we do it, don't care too much TBH just like good cricket and your flat decks in recent years haven't provided that IMO
