Even if we draw today India choking in a decider has to be taken into account. We own them consistently when it really matters
Outside of ODI World Cup finals.
How many deciders have Australia actually won in test cricket since the early 2000s. Our record is pretty poor from my recent memory.
South Africa in Cape Town 2014 & Pakistan a few years ago is the only ones i recall we actually did win a deciding test match to win a series after a long grueling test series.
2001 in India we lost the decider in Chennai after the famous Kolkata test match where India batted for 3 days.
2009 Ashes at the Oval when it was 1-all after 4 tests only needed a draw to retain the urn
2012 against South Africa in Perth where it was locked up 0-all we had Johnny Hastings took the new ball & Punter's last test
2017 in India it was 1-all and India beat us with Rahane as captain and no Kohli
2021 at the Gabba we know what happened there.
That's just off the top of my head
