But Langer wants the selectors to retain Marsh for Sydney.

Gee I am shocked our last drop-kick of a coach wants Marsh in the side for Sydney.
Langer is an unhinged weirdo, if he was Chairman of selectors the whole side would be from WA.

Interesting how Starc goes today.

His record in Sydney isn't great and he looks like he has a back niggle i probably wouldn't play him next week personally.

So he has to put it out all on the line today for mine.

Our brain dead selectors cant make the same mistake they did last time playing a tired attack at the Gabba in 2021 while the Indians had a bunch of fresh net bowlers we haven't seen or heard off again which probably helped them.

Even if we draw today India choking in a decider has to be taken into account. We own them consistently when it really matters
Outside of ODI World Cup finals.

How many deciders have Australia actually won in test cricket since the early 2000s. Our record is pretty poor from my recent memory.

South Africa in Cape Town 2014 & Pakistan a few years ago is the only ones i recall we actually did win a deciding test match to win a series after a long grueling test series.

2001 in India we lost the decider in Chennai after the famous Kolkata test match where India batted for 3 days.
2009 Ashes at the Oval when it was 1-all after 4 tests only needed a draw to retain the urn
2012 against South Africa in Perth where it was locked up 0-all we had Johnny Hastings took the new ball & Punter's last test
2017 in India it was 1-all and India beat us with Rahane as captain and no Kohli
2021 at the Gabba we know what happened there.

That's just off the top of my head

Rain is my concern for Sydney.

My concern here is whether we can bowl them out in one day.
Day 1 Friday might be okay now might be an early morning storm but looks mostly cloudy.

Days 2 & Day 3 look like hot sunny days - Sunday is supposed to be 37 in western sydney

Day 4 and Day 5 next week though look a bit iffy.
