Minichiello killed it in game 2. In hindsight he shouldn't have played game 3 but he deserved to off his return.

to the merrit consipracy theorists, do you really think that after all the humiliation NSW have suffered in SOO, to have effectively doubled the longest losing streak (3 series to 6 series) that they have refused to select merrit purely based on who he is / plays for?

do you really think they'd keep up some silly ruse as that's more important than winning the series?

seriously, wake up to yourselves..

Merritt is like Luke Burt. Great club player but that's all. The thing about wingers is that if they're that good, clubs don't waste their talent by playing them on the wing. Like Tahu, Hayne, King and now Gordon... they start off on the wing but move to the centres or fullback. These are the kind of players who are good enough to play rep footy. All the specialist wingers like Williams, Turner, McManus etc have failed at origin level.

Its not a conspiracy theory, tho as youve been nicknamed the village idiot, im not surprised that was your go to reaction.
Merritt not getting picked EVER simply shows that the selection committee is horrible, outdated, insular dinosaur man who have more in common with Gus Gibbering Gould than the modern day game.
The Selection committee is all about image, name and press.
Who else would be stupid enough to put Gasnier at 5/8th?
No, he'd be picked on 2011 SOO form, you're invoking some selective memory or something, Jennings was a doubtful selection, but then all doubt faded after game 1.
You mean the one game he played? WOW WHAT FORM.

Not always the case though. Uate hasn't moved to centre, not because he's not good enough, but that he's more suited to the wing, because of how dangerous he can be off kick returns etc.

Obviously they haven't/can't play Origin, but Vatuvei and Nightingale are specialist wingers who haven't moved positions

I know you guys hate on Merritt because hes from souths. But he should have already played origin many times before now.
If you are laughing because you know no matter how well he plays, he wont get picked. Then agreed.

But, but, but, but, but, but, he's not big enough to play Origin waaaaahh

I have no f**king idea how Merritt has managed to avoid Origin selection - just goes to show that being talented is not enough.

It's not like NSW have been overly blessed with amazing wingers either. But now Uate has one spot sewn up its not getting any easier for Merritt. I cant really see the selectors changing years of bad habits and picking him now.

-_- Merritt in NSW Origin. If he get's in I will rip my own balls off and set-them on fire.

Merritt is a good club player, Don't get me wrong but he won't survive the Origin arena and game-style. I'm happy to be proven wrong and he can score a bundle of tries and I will take my hat off to him. But I look at him as similar to Brett Morris- Great club player, actually one of the best but I don't think he can step-up to Origin level. No discredit to Morris either he has just never copied his form across to Origin which is a shame because he can be a great finisher.

As I said though. Happy to be proven wrong.

I think Morris is lightyears ahead of Merrit. In saying that i think the origin wingers should be uate and either hayne or gordon depending if one of them play fullback or dugan.
