Clarke is actually a decent commentator, aside from his blatant Western Sydney drawl.

Keep him away from Warne though, it will turn into a love-in.

ABC news this morning reporting that Haze is out with shin soreness, more likely to be replaced by Cummins than Siddle

Ever since 1-1 Hazewood has been utterly rubbish, and I'm still not sold on Starc. He has typified the whole attack, a peach of a ball followed by rubbish. Ideally you have Cummins and Pattinson (in 12 months), and that 3rd seamer is up for grabs. That might be Starc, Bird, Paris, Behrendoff, etc.

For a so called line and length bowler Hazelwood has been poor, in fact he has helped Cook all series with a number of half volleys on leg stump.

What has Cummins done to deserve a test spot? Serious question, aside from a performance 4 years ago, what's he done since... looks just ok every time I see him, and has barely played a game of first class cricket

He's just scored 82* so he's in there for his batting I presume...:sarcasm:

took 3 tail end wickets in the tour game and all of a sudden he is back in contention, bloody weird

I cant understand it either. Poms will crucify him in the 5th test if he gets selected as expected

On this touring party I guess it was between him and Siddle, so being a dead rubber, giving the kid a go as he is the future (well we hope), but how Cummins made it in the squad was a bit red carpet for mine

Good choice bringing in a youngster like Siddle. You have got to look to the future.

Completely forgot this game was on, heard it mentioned and was looking forward to some cricket while studying, then heard Siddle was in and my interest level dropped to around zero.

We lost the toss, England bowling first. Game over man, game over.
What's the over/under for how long we'll last. 20 overs maybe?

Selectors need to be some of the changes IMO. If only because of decisions like Voges and Siddle. Not very inspired selections that have in similar situations over the years held us back

Whats the point of picking Siddle???? If he was good enough he would have been picked in a must win 4th test. Laughable selection.

Agreed. Cummins might only get through 20 overs each innings...but he's potentially the future. And can bat a bit, which Siddle can't anymore. Cummins was the right call, if only to give the kid a run in friendly conditions and see what he can do and what he can learn.

Someone in another thread said there's 27 test or something between this series and the next Ashes. How many of those is Siddle seriously going to play? Short sighted selection, at best
