I wonder if one dayers could be made interesting again by having 4 "innings" of 25 overs each. Not innings in the test match sense but you pick up on your second innings where you left off(example 3 for, or 5 for or whatever) except against another new ball. The big problem with one dayers now is that the length of the innings gets boring - especially in the middle.
I might suggest this to someone.

You would be the type of bloke to suggest 4 quarter football in rugby league.

Bit of a wobble here at the end, we were none down like 6 overs ago.

Great knock Heady, really good breakout hundred

Target of 370....could have been higher but we'd be mad not to be happy with that

thanks. The 50 over game is in much worse health than it was in 2010....I'd give it a go at the international level. See how the feedback is from the TV audience.
Still the most popular form of the game in India and the world cup remains the number one trophy in the game for many nations. The formula is just about right after a few tweaks.

Truth be told I am happy for 50 over cricket to expire. You really cannot have three versions of one game.

So it failed horribly when trialled....lets try it again?? Righto.

We have had the 3 versions well over 10 years now, 3 world ODI cups in that time.

some ODI series is a waste of space, but so to t20 series (upcoming series v SL)

Like AG said, some tweaks are needed, not a massive overhaul or change as you are harping on
