5th Test: Australia v England at Sydney Jan 3-7, 2014

Now the series is well and truly won, Harris should probably be put on ice. I have a nasty feeling that he'll get injured on the 3rd day of the fifth Test and be out for 12 months.

I know 5-0 is a serious objective and that total humiliation is being demanded by the public but I don't want to see this match compromise our attack for for the SA tour. This bowling team has worked magnificently together and must stay intact.

Couldn't give a f**k if Watson is out injured, yet another big score when the series was won and it didn't matter.

Harris should rested. Twatson's fine, I reckon he just didn't feel like bowling, so he pulled his usual woe is me face, so he didn't have to.

His fielding/bowling efforts on the third day have got to be some of the most pea hearted things I've ever seen. He was moving with the speed of a glacier with the face of a baby who had their favourite toy taken away from them. Then can come out the next day, and when things are going his way with the bat suddenly the movement comes back!

Harris should get to choose. Part of maintaining a strong team environment is allowing players to play. You play your strongest team always and Harris is in that team. None of this resting or rotating rubbish that causes as many injuries as it prevents and results in a loss of momentum.

i want to change as little as possible, but resting rhino, mitch or sids if they need it sits well with me.

jobs done, now is the time to play with the line up if you need to.

what's the story with patto, cummings, bird and starc at the moment anyway?

i'd leave the batting well alone unless injury dictates. bailey needs to show something though.

Ryan Harris is a unique situation, he's one strong gust of wind away from a 12 month injury lay off.

Harris will have a full week between tests, and as long as he's rested from BBL and the ODI's he'll have a good layoff before the South Africa series.

He's earned the right to play in the final test.

I agree that he's earned that right but being extra cautious with a test series against South Africa around the corner should be considered with his injury history.

He played 4 tests in a row in England

Now 4 tests in a row in Australia, (not bowling a ton of overs either due to poms getting out cheaply most times). Hell play in Sydney if fit and rightly so. Worry about SA when we get there

Probably best to rest everyone. In fact, f**k it - let's just boycott the Test.

Wouldn't want anyone stubbing a toe.

I think Harris and Co have been managed pretty well by Clarkie, they only ever bowl in 4 or 5 over spells and Harris' knee was f**ked before the first test and he managed to get this far

I think Harris and Clarke both know the next time he misses a Test, he might not play again. Let him play while he is fit.

It will be very hard for a fast bowler in his mid 30s coming off a knee surgery to break back into the side.

Harris' knee injury is chronic too. No amount of rest will ever make it better.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Ballance and Borthwick are likely to come in for Carberry and Panesar, with Root to open and Bell to three.
