Great win. 10 years in the making.

On the pitch: The curator probably wanted a result inside 3-4 days to negate the rain we tend to get in Sydney. Shows we aren't a bunch of pitch doctoring shitheads but if Bumrah was fit that chase looks different.

Future Tours: It's overwhelming at this point...we need youth. That means Marsh has to go completely. And if I'm honest Hazelwood isn't on the plane to SL or the WI either. He can go to the WTC and then play some Ashes games. He gets wheeled out the same way Anderson was for England in his twilight years. Pick younger players like we should have 12-24 months ago. It starts with Marsh/Haze as we have guys ready to take their place right now unlike Khawaja.

AGs always accurate player ratings:
Khawaja: looked lost and disinterested and in cruise control. 5/10
Konstas: 8/10 for his first innings, 2/10 for his next 3, 10/10 for getting under Kholi's skin so 6.666666/10
Labs: when he was good he was eccentric, now he's an annoying simpleton 4/10
Smith: back to form 8/10
Head: got us back into the series with the bat and was there at the end 8/10
Webster: fantastic debut from the tall timber from Tasmania 9/10
Carey: looks a million dollars with the bat but is only worth 13 rupees. Safe gloves 6/10
Cummins: courageous, outrageous, contagious. Drops marks for captaincy 8/10
Starc: loves the pink, stinks in Sydney, probably bowled better than figures showed 7/10
Boland: magnificent machine from Victoria 9/10
Lyon: MBIA. Missing Bald In Action. Poor night hawking too. 3/10
McScapegoat: gotta say, probably shouldn't have been dropped but probably shouldn't have been picked either 4/10
Hazelwood: shouldn't have been picked for Brisbane. His spot is no longer his spot. 4/10
Marsh: 🤮 -97/10

India got the most runs in the test match with 185 on day 1.

The pitch compared to previous dead wickets in Sydney is a genuine mystery.

Its almost like the curator has no idea goes from one extreme to the other.
Last time the SCG pitch offered the amount of assistance for pace bowlers such as this test was the infamous 2010 victory vs Pakistan (wow, hard to believe that was 15 years ago!). I can't believe the 2010 SCG test was never mentioned by the Channel 7 commentators (whenever JL kept talking about never seeing this much grass on an SCG pitch in his life)

Got skittled for 127 on day 1, gave up a 200+ run first innings lead to Pakistan...and then we all know what happened in the 2nd innings....

I think ashes 2013/14 has more grass.

40 wickets and game was done on day 3 like today

May be an image of 1 person, playing American football and text that says WIKIPEDIA Scott Boland Article Talk Scott Michael Boland (born 11 April 1989) is an cricketer. A right-arm fast- Australian international medium bowler, who in his spare time enjoys playing with his bunny 'Kohli', and being a father to 1.4 billion Indian people. Scott Boland BOLAND 10

can't believe our summer of cricket is over already, seems like it only just started a few weeks ago
Cricket Australia are mad not to have any international cricket in January.

The Big Bash is surely not filling the need for a large section of the market.

For myself I have next to no interest. and if I did it would only be for one side. More chance of a cold day in hell than watching some Melbourne team play Adelaide FFS.

CA have made a mockery of the summer.

But unfortunately Franchise cricket has taken over the world instead of International cricket.

Prioritizing domestic T20 cricket over white ball international cricket.

I guess the ODIs are no longer cared for like the good old days of the Tri-Series where the 2 nations that played tests out here would compete with us in the best ODI tournament of the year outside of the World Cup.

T20I have always lack context and meaning the fact we play World Cups every 2 years is ridiculous imo for that format.

Its just overkill.

Combined team is kind of hard to pick because of the poor batting and lack of spin bowling success. Something like

Jaiswal
Rahul
Smith
Head
Webster (impressive 1 test)
Reddy
Carey
Cummins
Starc
Bumrah
Boland

Jadeja would be the spinner, in for Starc I guess. Siraj not far off Starc, Rahul poor but Australians poorer imo, #3s all horrible etc

We completely outplayed them in 4 of 5 tests.
Bumrah the only reason they were in any of the games.
