That guy is a sporting superman. He is rated highly by cricket players.
He got further than Covell too. Covell isn't even listed in Baggygreen.

you're talking Richards?? It's true then, he was potentially very good?? For mine, I think he's a hugely under-rated winger - sort of the anti-Covell!

I meant Berrick Barnes. Cricket, League and Union all want him. Richards is way greater than Covell though.

Bracken can swing the ball back into batsmen.
No he can't.

Ive seen him play many times, especially his tests for Australia, he doesnt swing the ball or move it around and he has no variation in pace either.

He has to get early wickets otherwise he'll go for 8 an over easily.

I know the Aus test he played he couldn't swing it but I thought he was back to his swinging ways.

regardless, he'd just be another Kasprowicz, not devastatingly fast, not renowned for swinging the ball.

Andy Bichel is far better as a bowler.

Problem is we are running low on genuine quality pace bowlers. The country will be stuffed when McGrath, Warne, Langer, Hayden, Martyn, Gilchrist, Ponting all start retiring in the next few years.

Well most of those guys have already checked out internally. Warne, Ponting and Langers are still here but the rest may as well be retired.

Langer
Hayden
Ponting
Martyn
Clarke
Katich (Watson may come in so there is an extra bowler and if MacGill plays he defintiely will come in)
Gilchrist

he needs to play then, I don't think withdrawing on the morning of the test is doing anyone any favours...

Don't worry he shouldn't be doing that unless there is a rugby ball during their warm ups :D

Stuart Clark has been brought into the squad
They said its a precaution for McGrath, but I dont know
If its a batting/spinners track, Clark may come in for Tait
Pace bowling wont be as prominent

Bracken's tests were on dustbowls in weather conditions completely unsuited to swing bowling.

If you want a true representation of his ability get some footage of the TVS Cup in India a few years ago, when we were without McGrath, Gillespie, Lee and Bichel, and him and Williams took the new ball and were devestating.

You do know that theres different types of pace bowling ?

Accuracy, Line and length fast bowling will be more important than just pace bowling, which is all basically Tait offers .

Clark should only come in for McGrath. We need the fire power and Tait has already had one game. He may also bowl better with McGrath.

I hope Clark can become our next McGrath then its a straight swap when McGrath goes. :d
