Regardless of what is printed in the papers about Jacko and what he did or didn't do outside of Music, it is undeniable that he revolutionised the Music industry. He completely changed people's expectations regarding performers in the Pop genre and he absolutely revolutionised the Music Video in the process. MTV owe everything to Michael Jackson imo.

Before he came along, music video's were just generally a bunch of Musicians standing around playing music. His video's were a journey of epic proportions. Kind of like a blockbuster movie condensed down to 5 or so minutes. I still remember the impact that "Thriller" had on the world. It was a great song, but at the time, the music video was mind blowing and completely revolutionary.

Not only that, but the amount of performers who have copied his idea's, dance moves and followed in his footsteps is crazy. I put him in the same bracket as Elvis and the Beatles for the way his ideas changed the Music industry and the world in general.

The world is now a less entertaining place.

BTW, I challenge anyone to hear Billy Jean in a nightclub and resist the temptation to get up and bust a few moves. It's impossible.

I don't subscribe to the "every opinion is valid" mentality. An opinion is only worth while if it comes from someone who actually knows what the f**k they're talking about, otherwise it's just noise.

So I don't post in the NRL forum because I:
A) don't know a lot about Rugby League, I just like to watch it
B) don't want to suffer trying to filter out all the worthless bullsh*t in order to find opinions from informed posters

I'm not advocating any position or trying to tell anyone how to behave, I'm simply saying that I find no value in posting in that particular part of the forums, so I limit myself to game-day threads, warriors/NZRL conversation, and contributing to the dribble of the FFB, much like Baz no longer wishes to contribute to the Parramatta forum.

If you think this is me trying to assert some sort of intellecutal dominance, or looking down on you and you're buddies in the NRL forum, then you can kindly f**k off and start an Andrew Johns vs. Wally Lewis thread.

Well, to be fair, this is a forum. If you come on to a forum expecting every opinion to be well constructed and informed you're not here for the right reasons.

Being realistic, and harking back to your first post, expecting a forum, especially one regarding sport, to not be biased, well - that lacks a bit of foresight too IMO.

I find it remarkable that you find the NRL forum full of worthless bullsh*t yet happily post here with open eyes...

Everything you're saying is a strawman. All I did was say to Baz that I don't post in the NRL forum for reasons similar to his and the parramatta forum. Never did I say anything about what I expect of it; it is what it is and I can't change that. I outlined my philosophy and explained that the NRL forum doesn't mesh with it, so I don't post there. Just like I don't post in the millions of other forums on the internet that are of no value to me.

If you had actually comprehended my 2nd post and not tried to construct strawman arguments, maybe you would actually understand what I'm talking about. Face it, you're just offended that I don't like a forum you're a prominent poster in. That's fine, just don't come crying to me with these baseless argumetns trying to pick a fight, it's pointless.
