Seth Rogen is better that Ferrell and Sandler and Baron Cohen, but I still wouldn't class anything he's been in as laugh out loud funny. Knocked Up was amusing, Superbad was terrible, Pineapple Express was ok and I haven't seen Zack and Miri yet. Sadly comedy these days is, for the most part, not funny. When movies like Anchorman are immortalised as pinnacles of the genre, something's wrong.

Clerks, Clerks 2 and pretty much all Kevin Smith movies, for example (except Jersey Girl, wtf was that?). But to be brutally honest I find most modern comedies amusing at best...

Basically they've given me no shifts for five weeks and won't man up and tell me I'm not on the rosters. Called them heaps, regarding whether I was on the apparent roster they made, the answer was always "still making it" and wait a few days. Today I rung and he told me they sent them out on Thursday (called twice since). They said they would definitely give them to me around eight.

What I like about the older british comedies is how the superior writing/acting abilities made up for the lousy budget. It's like the quality doesn't matter when you're laughing your ass off. A lot of the modern American sh*t is all set in realistic settings with really high quality production, but is just a bunch of lame jokes, not an elaborate piss-take situation like the above example, or a lot of the monty python or harry enfield stuff.
