Really enjoying the football and the atmosphere.
The players seem to be enjoying playing too.
Warriors are going well - Matagi & Gubb are pretty mobile. SJ, Tompkins & Fish are lethal.
Going to enjoy today.

OB & Wazza together - doesn't bear thinking about.
Enjoy it guys.

The Warriors have just been tipped out in an upset, but what a great couple of days it's been. On TV, the whole thing looked fantastic.

I missed the semi-final loss, was it the same old Warriors? Doing silly, basic things wrong under pressure?

They went into typical play it safe mode where they stopped doing what had given them so much success throughout the weekend and Johnson went missing.

Not the first time they've suffered from playing to not lose rather than playing to win.

Lot of credit needs to be given to the Cowboys though.

Yeah pretty much summed it up. Didn't get on the board early and looked like they were playing it safe from there. I thought Johnson tried but nothing was coming off in attack. Still defended well to hold the cows to 8.

Overall I thought it went pretty well.

The haters can go on about injuries, but all of them could of happened in trials or round 1, its part if the game and there is more money in this to reach quarter finals than there is winning the minor premiership!
So on some peoples theory your top players should miss the first 6-10 rounds to avoid injury and be fresher for the top 8 final system!
Coote is a walking injury, Staggs was an twist going for a ball and Mullen would of done his playing with his dog at home!

Rules pretty good:
The 5 point try is a must, keeps the defense honest rather than leaving a player once line broken.
Time off maybe after try scored? 30 sec to kick goal or disallowed ( NBA shot clock style).
Zero tackle on kick over in goal good and standard in NRL
No video ref good. Some missed calls but pretty good weekend by officials.

Warriors seemed to have nothing left in the tank in the semis. Johnson shut down and Cowboys seemed to stay on top longer in tackles.
A player like Locke may have been helpful? 3 major play makers.
To much hitting up expecting to bust through and Cows defense excellent.
Standard dumb mistakes by Warriors.
Some good young talent there.

Look forward to next year, wonder how the crowds will go?

Disappointed the Warriors didn't win but there's lots to like about some players and really liked the Tomkins/Johnson combo, especially yesterday

If they had played attacking footy like yesterday, they would be holding the cup now.

Cowboys deserved it today..

Obviously it's going to be a little different in the real season, but Lousi looked really good, if he can be running around like that keeping the ball alive then he's going to cause some havoc.

Can't say I really noticed Bukuya very much.

Matagi was awesome, pretty much was doing what many expected Hurrell to do.

Tomkins started well then cooled down, same can be said for most of them.

SJ was electric until the last game.

Fish was awesome when he actually got the ball, felt like he wasn't getting anywhere near as much as some of the other teams wingers, not sure why.

Lolohea was good but overshadowed.

I only watched two games in total. The warriors last on day 1 and the the last 3 minutes of the semi. And obviously didn't go. So can't really comment on the game.

Noted that there was a lot less people dressed up than at the Wellington 7's. It must be that a lot of people went to actually watch the games, but from what I heard, the atmosphere was still really good.

Listened to Radio Sport on the way out to cricket on Sunday and I admit, I honestly thought the press would just be all over the "leaguies can't behave themselves" stories. The crowd behaviour must have been exceptional because I have not seen or heard one comment from anyone that it was bad!

Having been there I can say the crowd and the mood was exceptional. A lot of that had to do with the policy of allowin only one beer per purchase from around 3pm onwards. Annoying at the time but in hindsight it was a smart move.

That whole competition was a class act.

Yeah. I thought it was amazing it ran to time but I guess that was a requirement for TV.

How did the crowd react to the celebrity game? I didn't sit through it. I realize they need to allow a space between semis & final but I thought that was week.

Would have loved to see a sprint at the end. One player per team, length of the field in gear, $50,000 purse.

Did the Wazz catch his flight back?

Was at the stadium on both days
The saturday there were alot more people dressed up( I went as Super Mario) and i saw a couple of folk get tossed out, to be expected really. Certainly wasn't as much as the sevens
Sunday there were alot less costumes and i didnt see a single person get thrown out.

It was a great atmosphere, and if i had kids, I wouldnt hesitate to take them

I think the event being on a Saturday and Sunday and running 12 - 8 ish probably helped with peoples behavior too - If it was more of the model of the 7s Friday / Saturday running till 10pm it would get messy. Pretty smart really.

There was a bit of bottle throwing in my bay on Saturday - Mexican wave after Mexican wave just sucks too
