No offence mate, but whatever the 7's were like "Back in the good old days" I doubt that you could handle the 7's any more anyway. I reckon you're past it and that's ok, old folk get that way when they just accept the onset of brain cell diminshment with a well prepared wink and green toothed grin that tells everyone "This elevator don't go to the top floor no more".

You let me know how close I am to the truth mate. In your own time, I'd hate to be responsible for it progressing faster than its current rate.

You're wasting your time EA, I've been trying to get the old softy psyched up again for over 6 months now, but he's lost it - all burnt out you see.

These days he just spends his time flushing Panthers out of the undergrowth and apoligising for Easts all over the place, but you just won't see any real spirit out of him no more.

EA, give it a rest mate. Cogburn as a favour to me has agreed to help out, as I said, we want to give all the crew who haven't participated in the 7's a run and those of us who have played are going to back them up.

As for Melon and RLE, I've been pestering them for ages now and I accept their genuine reasons for not playing. It's a non-issue now EA, let's move on.

But while you're in recruiting mode, how about getting Bansai involved for another go? While you may have linguistic proficiency, his one and only sevens article was boardering on genius. Just a shame the ref of the day didn't have a sense of humour like the ones we've got here. 8)

Humour aside, and I know you're only trying to have a stir etc but theres a fair amount of disrespect being thrown around. I take my hat off to anyone who has puts their hand up for the sevens - past or present. It takes it's toll over the course of a season and I respect all those who have contributed, whether they played at worl, ishbiz or here. It's easy to write one or two creative articles. Maintaining it throughout a season, like Melon did at worl and Gorilla did here, is an entirely different matter.

It's over as far as I'm concerned and you're right, it was only a stir. The disrepsect has been spooned out liberally by both sides and and it's still being spooned out liberally in other threads. It's part and parcel of being here and reading the cyber phlegm these guys post. oops, Good natured cyber phlegm I meant. ;-)

Was Bansai's effort here or has it met with cyber death? I'd love to read it.

I really can't understand anyone who thinks that they have some talent not giving it a go. This medium gives people a chance to challenge themselves in a literary sense and from what I've seen, 7's is where it really gets challenging. For exactly the reasons you've stated. One posting is fine and if you happen to score well, all well and good. But to do it week in week out, year in year out, that's the real challenge.

Bansai's article was lost in the big worl fry up but I do know that it exists (well, as far as I know it still does) elsewhere but I'm not wishing you upon the good people who populate that place for all the tea in China. :lol: :lol: :lol: I'm not sure, being somewhat closed minded regarding the Roosters and all, that you would find the genius in it that I did. ;-) But I still can't believe it didn't get a 10.
