that was the worst sitting with bear fans

The Parra Match at Parra for mine was the worst. Everyone knew by halftime the JV was dead...

could imagine what sort of crowds they would get, like the rabbits do now probley

What, you mean like the crowds that are around 1000 less average than the crowds of the Silvertail Scum (you) and haven't had the benefit of Friday night games or a stadium near our fanbase?:roll:

One Friday Night game, and since you've used statistics that don't include this weekends games, your talking out of your a*se...We're about 2,200 ahead of you now, and we played a traditionally high drawing match (Parra), away from brookvale...

this is the worst proposal of all time.

Yeah Saints should have to merge again, with the most hated rivals.

you do realise saints and sharks fans hate each other?

penrith and Parramatta...what a dead sh*t you are! again = hatred.

you want a comp do this:

1) Western Reds
2) Southern Orcas (NZ)
3) Central Coast Bears
4) Port Moresby

20 teams, 20 rounds, a comp that stretches from Fremantle to Bondi, Melbourne to Townsville, NZ and Papua New Guinea.

Who could possibly argue with the spread of that:

ladies and gentleman I present:

The Oceania Rugby League

ORL 2020

 best suggestion ive read on the first page, this wont happen... BUT how awesome would it be if it did. But i do have some alterations re. to mergers.

Rabbits/Roosters to merge.

Dogs to Relocate.

That way the ORL could either be an 18 team comp in 2020, with the possibility of 2-4 new teams by 2030 (including central Qld team and an extra team in the other states (vic probably, but whichever one accepts league))

Wait...you think a game at the traditional home of football, a one off event...is going to DECREASE your crowd numbers?:crazy::crazy:

Since the only crowd averages it is included in are the NRL's, yes! Add that, and we're about 2,700 ahead of you...;-)

p.s: the definitive crowd averages used on this site are maintained by *paul* @ stats.rleague.com

*Edit* Manly average to date (including SCG): 15,081
Souths Average to date: 12,746

2,300 ahead...

What the hell does that mean in response to one of your fans thinking the game at the SCG was bad for your crowds?

It was your highest gate of the year FFS!

AFAIC, games held at venues that aren't traditionally home venues shouldn't count as home games. It's consistent with the stats used most often for attendances on this site (stats.rleague.com). Thus, taking away the Eels game, which usually draws well at Brookvale, had a detrimental impact on our crowd averages, if you do the proper thing and take out the games played away from your actual venues...It'd be like including that Souths vs Warriors game @ NSO in Souths Crowd average for last year...

Comprende? Or do I have to speak slower?

Let's get serious. It's time that we looked at mergers. All of us. What we need is for every club in NSW to merge into a single club, playing in brown jerseys and called the omni all-state mega giants and they can play against the Brisbane-NZ War horses and the South East Asia Cowboys out of Jakarta. You see if we merge these teams and only really give a damn about the biggest markets then we'll have a really super neato quality and it will be like State of Origin every week except for 20 years from now when we no longer have enough juniors.

With a nifty new NRL-Ultra it won't matter that we'll have opened up all of our markets to AFL and rugby union expansion. Disenfranchised fans right across the country are expendible. Stuff 'em I say, let them go.

Obviously though when the quality drops in 20 years due to the lack of quality players we'll need to cut down the number of teams in QLD. One is just too many, when we've already got a side in South East Asia technically covering the area already. Two teams is probably overkill come to think of it. Perhaps what the public really wants is the worlds greatest team playing inter squad matches, thus they don't even have to watch teams they don't like! I'm sure the money will come rolling in at ludicrous speed, and if it doesn't then we can always relocate half the intra club squad to Dubbo, a city without a club who most certainly deserve one more than any other venue on Earth.
