A player you thought was a diamond but ended up a rock

SHannon Walker was talked about as a rare talent and possibly the fastest player in the game, did absolutely nothing.

Omar Slaimankhel was another. Looked amazing scoring almost a try a game in the lower grades, then went to Japanese rugby. Is now back playing NSW cup but nobody cares.

Kiwi hookers come to mind - Masada Iosefa, Alehana Mara, Nafe Seluini. I know I've mentioned the last two before, but you've got a handy devils trifecta there.

I don't know what happened to him, but there was a lad called Josh Davis who went to Parra. He was a centre from Wellington.

The talk on Epalahame Lauaki was huge.

Iosefa was truly horrible at the Tigers, I would have preferred Galloway at hooker.

Josh Davis played nsw cup for the Tigers for years. Was 18th man for first grade a couple of times. I think he may have even been named in the 17 once but then a player came back from injury early and he was omitted. I think he may have gone over to the ESL or even the tier below it?

There was a prop from Saints about 10 years ago. Charlie Leono or something. Big lump of a lad. Scored tries early in his career. Then was gone.

Ole Charlie, I remember him. Was a beast of a human being. Had terrible knees, if I recall. Lots of potential that went unrealised.

I thought Daine Laurie could be a good player if not a diamond.

He got hammered at a group 6 game while watching his brother play a few years back.

His brother gets into a fight and it took about 4 guys to stop Dane running onto the field.

I remember him. Was around the 130kg mark. Had the knees of an 80kg person though

Basically every talented player to come out of the Warriors under 20s in the last 10 years.

Anyone remember Siuatonga Likiliki? He was going to be a superstar. Ended up playing a total of 3 1st grade games at stints with 2 clubs. He is just one of many. The Warriors have so many hyped juniors and an incredibly low success rate of turning potential into reality.

You are an idiot for several reasons.

But on Likiliki, literally NOBODY rated him or though he would be a superstar. He was great on attack but had shocking defense and was never going to make it as a first grader, which is why he was let go.

Lol was gonna say him. Warriors fans used to love him on here back in the day.

As has been said, about 80% of Warriors U20 players over the years would fit nicely in this thread.
