Im not trying to be sour grapes, and i believe Sydney and Brisbane need the extra money so AFL can grow... just wanted to point that out, that Storm dont get any extra $$$ from the NRL.

The standard of the game was a hell of a lot higher in 1989, but this was tight throughout.

Western Australian Premier Geoff Gallop has put WA's state pride on the line in a bet with his New South Wales counterpart for tomorrow's AFL grand final.

Dr Gallop has wagered with the New South Wales Premier Morris Iemma that if West Coast win, the team's flag will be flown on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

But if the Swans win, their flag will be flown on top of WA's Parliament house.

Dr Gallop is in Melbourne for the game and says he is confident the Eagles can win.

"You never know on the day of course, but I think they've got momentum and I believe that Sydney have had a harder road to the final and our form's been improving in the last two weeks, so I'm quietly confident that we can take it off," he said.

Man that game was intense. I actually believed we lost it there when we fell 10 ponts behind in the last quarter, with all the momentum with the Eagles and Dean Cox killing us with the hit outs.

But it was a great comeback and Buchanan really lifted in the last quarter.

And what a great mark by Barry... that was simply stunning.

To celebrate me and my mates ran out to the streets screaming, only to find noone else had done the same..

One of the neighbours came out and thought someone died because of all the noise and fuss we were making.

Chris Judd deserved the Norm Smith Medal, he was simply too good for his markers throughout the match... Buchanan is all i can remember
