everyone seems to think that winning Origin is more important than the rest of the game or pride in where you come from. i love watching Aku play for Fiji.

And i would love to watch Inglis and Izzy play for NSW but that isn't happening..

ahh yes, one injustice deserves another. you f**king idiot. what a geniused thing to say.

in fact, it's even more geniused because i HAVE watched Aku play for Fiji... many a time... and he's as proud to represent his home land as any origin player has been to rep their state. perhaps even moreso.

the origin eligibility rules have to be changed. it's as simple as that. a bloke like Aku should not be forced to choose between pride and prestige in this game.

That wasn't a stab at what you said whats-so-ever.
I completely agree that the eligibility rules should be changed but only to the allow players form countries such as PNG, Fiji, etc to play for the state their sate they developed from. If however these players want to then represent Australia as well then they shouldn't be able to swap and change - or perhaps with the option of only once (eg. for a World Cup).
Although Uate plays with huge amount of passion when he puts on the Fiji jersey, who are any of us to say that he wouldn't have the same passion when he put on an Australian jersey. We don't know if he aspires to one day play for Australia?

i think it would be a genuine shame if Uate no longer played for Fiji. he's obviously very proud and passionate about his home country. i would only want to see him play origin if he could play for both.

im going to have to agree with you there mate.
love watching both wes and aku play for fiji.

Don't know when this thread became name your NSW backline, but anyway:

1. Hayne
2. Morris
3. Lyon
4. Jennings
5. Uate
6. Carney
7. Pearce

I'd love to see Aku playing inside a centre who can actually give him some decent ball.

It's a shame that players are forced to pick between State of Origin and their national team. The eligibility rules are different for SOO, so I don't see why what country your from should affect it.

I'd pay to see that back line.
As for what is in bold, do you think its right for say Kiwi players and English players (S. Burgess) to be able to play state of origin football or were you referring to those countries that don't get the opportunity to represent their countries too often.

As a NSW fan i am praying we see the return of 06-08 Stewart next year, people forget he is every bit as good as Slater when on and was close to the best player in the world in 2008 before injury cruelled him in 09 and beyond.

Injury and his trial obviously present a big if regarding a return of 100% Stewart but Hayne and Dugan aren't in this blokes league.

I wouldn't be against letting NZ/English reps play SOO if they fit the selection criteria, but I think it cripples the minnow nations by forcing their best players to choose between Origin and Fiji/Tonga/etc. If we continue to force the choice, international league is going to remain with only 3 decent teams for a very long time.

Stewart and hayne are both rovers in attack so we have a double weapon right there alone. Jennings and Aku would be the quickest wing centre combo in history surely. They would tear Qld apart.

Minichello has reminded everyone what a great player he was when at his best as well. Stewart and Slater are almost inseperable as talents.

i may have heard him wrong.. but i think Uate said he was trying to change his eligibility to NSW Country for next year in his post-match press conference on Monday.

let's see how flexible the rules are.

that post match conference was so quiet, esp on my laptop.
but i could of sworn thats what he said as well.
an aku jennings combo would be lethal.

IIRC I remember Uate playing alongside Hayne in the U20s NSW squad, not too sure, maybe I was hoping too much and had some random illusion...Hayne and Aku, both carving it up on the edges and the middle.
