38-0 was great, but it is no longer the record, even if in today's game they would have scored more than Manly did. We can still annoy dragons fans about it, but cannot claim it as a record.

Yes because you cant say what the score would have been under the current points system , because its different

Math's obviously not a strong point.. The 38 points was scored through 8 tries (then worth 3 points) and 7 conversions (no penalty goals), so it really is not hard to work out..

the current cricket points has change you get the no ball plus the runs you score off it

so a 6 could be worth 7 and a 4 could be with 5 under the current cricket points system , we are talking about the team score , shouldnt have mention bradman bad example because he was a player not a team

You can never compare any result what happen in the past to the current result , because points , rules and playing conditions etc

the only way you can compare is the margin , so Allan jones is wrong in saying what he did

The batsman does not get the run for the no-ball, it goes against extra's so as loudstrat said, there is no change to the cricket scoring system.. His average would still be the same..

the fact that st george (no longer around, bless them) have still had the most tries and goals scored against them in a grand final
First the dragons are still around , so what happen 33 years ago doesnt bother me.

It doesnt matter. Its the score not the way it was added up that counts. I guess melbourne can take some solace in that, like the knights did in 2005 being the highest competition points wooden spoon of all time, in the end we still finished last, and 40-0 is still the GF record margin.

40 > 38.

Thus ends today's lesson.

Melbourne, the most unsuccessful Grand Finalists ever. End of.

There is still one thing that shuts up Saints fans. To lose 38-0 in a GF is a disgrace.

38-0!!! Suck it up ladies.
