Alan Jones is a political manipulator. Tory operative slug.

If people like/support him thats fine, they are simply showing they are not political and cannot see his insidious political maneuvering.

there probably isn't a person here that doesn't know that, but the point that i a few others are trying to make is that he wasn't dragged at the club to sprout those views on the players.

No, he was brought to the Club to tell them that what they achieved in 2009 won't count, and it takes hard work to win an NRL premiership. The players must be a pack of 'dubbo's' IF they needed to be told that, and IF they did, this season will be a write-off.
I would like to think they are more intelligent than how the Club has assessed them.

so your telling me Petey, that it has nothing to do with you disliking the bloke??...

wouldn't the people you refered them to fit in the same sort of catogary? wouldn't it be easier just to say that we don't need a motivational speaker at all? instead of telling us that this bloke is more a benefit to them than that bloke?

No Marioey, nothing at all to do with "toe touching" Jones...just his message. I am shooting the messenger....

Motivation comes from within...or at least it should...and if NRL players NEED to be told what he delivered they should look for another job.

I'D RATHER SEE A SERMON

I'd rather see a sermon
than hear one any day;
I'd rather one should walk with me
than merely tell the way.

The eye's a better pupil
and more willing than the ear,
Fine counsel is confusing,
but example's always clear;

And the best of all the preachers
are the men who live their creeds,
For to see good put in action
is what everybody needs.

I soon can learn to do it
if you'll let me see it done;
I can watch your hands in action,
but your tongue too fast may run.

And the lecture you deliver
may be very wise and true,
But I'd rather get my lessons
by observing what you do;

For I might misunderstand you
and the high advice you give,
But there's no misunderstanding
how you act and how you live.

When I see a deed of kindness,
I am eager to be kind.
When a weaker brother stumbles
and a strong man stays behind

Just to see if he can help him,
then the wish grows strong in me
To become as big and thoughtful
as I know that friend to be.

And all travelers can witness
that the best of guides today
Is not the one who tells them,
but the one who shows the way.

One good man teaches many,
men believe what they behold;
One deed of kindness noticed
is worth forty that are told.

Who stands with men of honor
learns to hold his honor dear,
For right living speaks a language
which to every one is clear.

Though an able speaker charms me
with his eloquence, I say,
I'd rather see a sermon
than to hear one, any day.

so we don't need Kurt fearnley either?? ...despite the fact you think he's "better" than the "toe toucher" ??

toe touching Jones hey???...it's not exactly a term of endearment is it? :lol:

Kurt Fearnley delivers a 'sermon' everyday..especially doing the Kokoda Track...Unbelievable..and if that is not more motivating than an Alan Jones pep talk....

A former Manly, Souths and NQ forward might dispute that. All depends who eyes you are looking through.
