knew it would happen some how, call it gut feeling. f**k him anyway, sick of spending a sh*tload on juniors only for them to turn sh*t when they reach first grade for us, sick of paying overs for juniors.

And please people, Blake Green was never that great for us also, he was solid without brillant, much the same as he's now.

doesn't he coach the Sharks Toyota cup side?

they're running last. whats the attraction?

exactly, i mean a may be a great bloke and all, but i think other factors are the reaon why they're leaving...perhaps simple as this, money, and p-romised a opportunity.

jeeze, some of you are not holding back..sticky has been the greatest thing to happen to my club since john lang, sticky has done ALOT to fix up the monumental f*ck ups of chris anderson and stuart raper

i hope for 2nd time lucky, i hope kelly shows more heart and passion and actually tries unlike the flop named Filiga who didnt give a sh!t

like you should all care, one moves on and you instantly find another superstar in the making

I think they'll be looking for another stop gap cover half like Robson..

Scott Porter, Eddie Paea or even Daniel Holdsworth springs to mind as possible covers in the halves.

Porter re-signed this week till 2011 and Eddie Paea plays for our NSW Cup team (which came out of nowhere), so he is contracted with us

doesn't he coach the Sharks Toyota cup side?

they're running last. whats the attraction?

due to the fact we have the youngest NYC team in the comp and most players eligible to play NYC are in first grade or NSW Cup which has forced a major re-shuffle

quite a few SG ball players have had to move up to NYC this season to cover the likes of ferguson, stapo, mannah and wright (first grade) and jack bosden who quit league altogether and of course injuries etc

our NYC team have been in most games this year, just unable to stay in the game towards the end

even if they are coming last, who wouldnt want to play under Joey Grima

john lang might have been even better had your club not booted him ... i particularly loved how he won a premiership when your board kicked him

stuart is a twat of the highest order ... yes he knows some stuff about footy, but he's still a twat - if he wasn't such a knob he probably would have won several premierships by now

Hahaha bastard.
Nah im really happy with how i players are atm, especially with what is happening next year.
I reckon KK and morts will be a great halves combo along with blokes like Hayne and Mateo injecting themselves whenever they see an opportunity. off the back of a solid forward pack.

Tbh im more worried bout blokes like kk and morts developing then bringing tim smith in, its time to move on. . . finally haha:crazy::D

Party of me agrees, bring someone like Tim back to the club might stunt the development of guys like Mortz who may think the club is not completely intrested in him. Tim Smith wont be happy to come back into the NRL and sit in NSW cup the whole time so it is probably better to not explore that avenue if we are serious with Mortz/KK combo.

For a backup we may just look at keeping Kinga and giving him game time at halfback in trials to see how he performs or look at signing someone like Wing who can play in the halves.

The best option may be (all though be it risky) to have Mortz, KK, Mateo, MK, Mitchell and Isoefa (if we sign him) as players who can cover halves/hooker and if we get hit by injury use Reddy as a cover for 5-8.

i.e If Mortz and Mateo are both injured we can have Reddy/KK in the halves, MK hooker and Iseofa at lock (add playmaker at lock).

Although I can not wait for KK/Mortz to combined and allow Hayne to play more a supporting role then creating role and Mateo to be allowed to use his running game more.

yeah, because they continually give junior rep jobs to great blokes don't they?

why don't you have a look at the amount of players in his squad NOT currently in his side because they're playing first grade..

I believe there might be a few more heading that way from our club..stay tuned.

Well then Grima has elevated himself to the level of Noel Cleal as a former Eel staffer who feels the need to pick the eyes out of our club. Go ID your own talent, scum bag.

And maybe he didn't. One thing I do know is that if anyone feels the need to praise him, do it at the Sharks LU corner. :fist:

Just on Albert Kelly. Sure he has some talent but still very raw. Both he and TK Amosa will need more time to develop but they could be very good NRL players of the future. Do we have the money to risk on them?

As I mentioned to Stagger about 3 weeks ago, Nathan Gardner wasn't even offered a contract by Parra.

With Kelly, the Sharks came in on the 11th hour and made the bid. He was all but going to the Tigers until Sticky and Joey G made the call and promised the kid the keys to the Town Centre.

As told to me by a board member, Parra offered the kid want he wanted but somehow the Sharks have come up trumps here.

Maybe he got a 3rd party deal from the bloke with the 72 dodgy life insurance claims?

So how much did we spend on this kid to never play an NRL game for us - half a million?

Why spend this dough on kids at that level?

Why not save it and compete for seasoned players in the halves?

Cynical I know, and if clubs like us, Dragons, Panthers and Knights take that approach the NRL won't be fending off AFL and Rugby the way it is doing now.

From what I heard, about $150k per year

Not bad for a kid who hasn't played First Grade yet

If our money was in the same ballpark as the Sharks, I cannot fathom how Kelly did not feel somewhat obligated to return the favour on our investment. Same goes with Tony Williams (and scores of others) I guess.

If we did offer that much id be very dissapointed with our management. Kelly should have been offered incentives and not alot more. a base salary of $150K for a player unproven on a consistent basis in Under 20's let alone in first grade is ridiculous. Goodluck to the sharks if he turns out to be their saviour.
