This is another in a long of Channel 9 stories that seek to denigrate Rugby League around the time of Origin.

Add it to the list of Ben Ikin's father, Paul Mellor,'s wife and other beat ups.

That LU fans use it to push their biases and agendas isn't a shock

it's because of his book being released soon

Sad to see the Qld education system has failed its students so badly on reading comprehension.

Nobody, including Alex, has tried to shame Jordan or anyone involved in the tackle.

The issue was with Cameron Smith's behaviour after it happened.

Any comparisons to Scott's tackles on Thurston are irrelevant and frankly strange when Alex (or Knights fans for that matter) has said nothing of ill about the tackle itself or the blokes involved in it.

The issue was Smith's behaviour afterwards and that has always been the issue. It showed a complete lack of sportsmanship and lack of care/respect for another player's well-being.

Nobody tried to shame Jordan? What fall out from that game were you watching, chief? I clearly remember the likes of Tracey Grimshaw publicly calling him out after he was interviewed by the News Ltd press and said something along the lines of "that is not an apology. Man up and do it face to face and not by way of a newspaper interview".

He was also the very public face of that tackle given no consideration was given to the role of the Bromwhich brothers in that tackle. Jordan was also stood down from the following game by Greenberg who played the ridiculous "player welfare" card (namely Jordan's) in the lead up to the judiciary hearing. And then I remember the fall out on social media when Melbourne exercised their right to an appeal (which every club would have had yet all the morons on Facebook seemed to think it was exclusive to Melbourne) against Greenburgs knee jerk reaction and allowed Jordan to play. Jordan was then heckled every time he took the ball up by Bullfilth fans in Perth. The only thing that extra week served was to give the media and the judiciary more time to contemplate the magnitude of the situation. He should have gone to the judiciary straight away given the circumtances. McLean was always a dead man walking yet NRL saw fit to play out the drama for another week before handing him 7 weeks on the sidelines.

no shame? You're off your head.

There is lots of lowlife behaviour in footy. Usually we are screaming blue murder at the "scum" that stay down to get a penalty, which is really nothing. Every player in the game has grappled or chicken winged someone. Players are going to be dogs or cheats, and they know they are going to get called out by fans and other players. You don't make first grade by being nice to opponents. Have a look through the rep teams, they are full of a***holes.

If Cam Smith (or any other player) wants to try and talk his team out of a penalty while an opponent is on the ground screaming heaven knows what about the seriousness of his injury, then nobody can be shocked or dismayed by the reaction he has got. You can't defend a dog act by saying "but...but...that other guy on that other team does bad stuff too". If Cam gets bagged, both he and his fans need to cop it on the chin.

no shame? You're off your head.

1) I was clearly talking about Knights fans here and Alex you moron...Not people in the media. Knights fans were accused of being hypocritical due to Scott's tackles on Thurston when they (and Alex) are clearly pissed about Smith's behaviour after the tackle had happened. Not the tackle itself...so calling them hypocritical based on Scott's tackle doesn't make sense.

If Scott broke Thurston's neck and he was clearly in distress and everyone could see that but Gidley ran in and kept yelling to the ref (after the ref told him to go away until they dealt with the more important issue - the injured player) that it was Thurston's fault and that the Knights should get a penalty and the Knights fans supported Gidley - then yeah, that's hypocritical. However considering that's not what happened it holds zero relevance other than to try and deflect.

2) I was also talking about the attitudes right here and now...obviously people may have felt very differently at the time about the tackle when the pain of the accident was still fresh. It was over a year ago though - which again is damning against Smith.

well actually you didn't make it clear that it was just Knights players or fans you were referring to in regards to the "shaming".

and there's no need for name calling. That just highlights your ignorance.

Well I thought I made it pretty clear considering I was responding to a post that was calling Knights fans hypocrites.

And that goes both ways - don't need to tell people they're off their head just because the post wasn't read as it was intended.

Let's see how Knights fans go about their business when McLean finally does play at Marathon Stadium. We'll see how your "no shaming" theory holds up then.

Watching SL yesterday and player got sin binned for a lifting tackle. If I was going to be angry about something it would be why the NRL hasn't got serious about the risk of another player going through what Alex has endured. But as said this isnt really about some major grievance Alex has it is a publicist getting promotion for his book by causing controversy and a sht media that loves to write sht on the game, followed up fans with their faux outrage at a player they don't like. Such is life in the 21st century lol.

Smith is a scum bag, QLD like to talk about Gallen but Smith is 10x worse.

Ehh no, ripping stitches out and racism are just a few things Gallen is known for.

They are equal, I'll never understand what went through Smith's mind when he tried to wrench Thaiday's head off in 2008 which led to him missing the Grand Final.

Melbournes press release should calm the tits of some in here. But no doubt there will be some who will disregard it.

This.
And every Cam Smith hater on here jumps in & follows the Pied Piper

Only days after a young man lost his life in a tackle.
...what does that make all of them?

Storm fans really mimic the behaviour of their scum club, don't they.

That's akin to me claiming all Knights fans are scum for some of their club's past indiscretions.

Pull your head in, fella. You wouldn't know the first thing about me personally.
