They were discussing this on MMM Sydney this morning. Dell, Dan Ginane, Billy Birmingham . . . I think. Was doing some painting and had the radio on in the background.
They interviewed a bloke who was either a Storm club bloke or Smith's manager . . . again, background and not paying complete attention.
This bloke's argument went along the lines of " waiting to get the timing right for Cammy to apologise. All the while defending Smith on the basis that "it's not in his character".
He also trotted out that unfortunately McKinnon contributed to his plight by tucking in his head.
By this stage I had stopped painting and was starting to hurl stuff at the radio.
Dell and those other 2 were towing the party line and constantly referring to it not being in Smith's character. I think Rothfield was there as well, and at least he had the nuts to stand up to this clown from Smith's camp and ridicule him for suggesting an 18 month wait to apologise is socially acceptable.
All reference to it not being Smith's go . . . or any other bullshit phrase that means the same thing . . . should be removed from his defence . . . and then I'd love to see how he justifies himself.
And lastly . . . as far as Alex tucking in his head . . . those Storm tacklers had started to rotate him mid air, looking for all money that they were going to continue to spin him and land him on his back. Alex tucked his head so they would complete the revolution and he would be safe when he landed.
He didn't figure the merkins were going to stop the rotation and drive him into the ground on his head.
Watch the replay. It is so blatantly obvious. But I hope Mclean got some counselling, you know, to help him through what would have been a difficult time for him.
With all this media attention, Cammy might re-visit the timing issue and get around to apologising for being such a Cameron Smith.
