Mason seemed to have no idea and wanted to carry on with some childish bullshit, same as Beau Scott.

I'm sure in hindsight everyone recalled that it was bad.

It's always easy to make a judgement after the fact watching the footage 10 times over

Yes Mason and Scott were mucking around to begin with, and smith had an initial chat with the referee, that's not a problem, in the first 30 seconds not many people knew how serious this was. But after the game had been halted for 10 minutes, as doctors from both teams tried to stabilize Alex, as Alex hadn't moved a muscle below his neck in 10 minutes, surely then Cam would of realized how serious this was. Granted he might not of knew that Alex had been paralyzed, he still would of known it was pretty serious. To them continue to argue the penalty and try blame Alex for his injury is not normal human behavior

There you have it.

Some will no doubt still complain that he could have phoned him, but if you are being turned away constantly the likely, rational opinion you are going to form is that "he doesn't want to speak with me." In that scenario, attempting to make contact despite those wishes would be the wrong thing to do.

I've maintained that must have been the case for a while.

And in omitting it, 60 mins was deliberately deceitful.

As the captain of his country, I would have expected Smith to reach out to McKinnon whether he or the Storm were involved or not.

You could absolutely believe that Michael Clarke would be in contact if a State cricketer became a quadriplegic playing in the Sheffield Shield.

well put, smith should be stood down as rep captain.

you can't have it both ways, to acclaim smith as one of the brightest thinkers in the game and then plead ignorance 10 minutes after the incident.

he's obviously got a competitive fire that gets the better of him at times, (that's the nice way of saying he's a grub but it's not his go)

You do see Hoffman talking to Smith quite a bit. If you wanted to speculate, you could suggest that he encouraged Smith to take it further.

I truly believe that until this came out, Smith had no idea Alex felt this way.

Even If Hoffman had got into his ear, Smith should of had the leadership to ignore it, and to think maybe there's more important things to do than argue a penalty in this situation, even if it was to wait until halftime and have a quick private chat to the refs in the tunnel.
You also can't use the excuse that it was in the heat of the moment, he had a full 10 minutes to weigh up his options in that situation

Smith contaced and went and saw Wally Lewis in hospital. This means he is a nice guy and his actions of not showing any care for McKinnon on the field or in the months after were nice actions also....

I wonder if the Storm had to contact Lewis's management to arrange those visits, or if Smith was to think and act independently that time?

Disagree 100% but that's always going to be the case on that point, with both sides.

You'd think he would need the approval of his family. If they said no then I don't think he would disrespect their wishes and go anyway.

Disagree 100% that when someone's badly injured that to argue over a penalty isn't the most important thing to do? WOW!!

Yes that seems an accurate representation of what I said.

Just like Danish claiming that I was the first poster to mention that he was a Queenslander.

Did Jordan McLean have to meet in person?
Jordan got message through, and even if Alex still had anger over the issue and didn't read the message at the time, he was still able to appreciate the thoughts and sentiments of Jordan at a later time

So when you see an injured player on the ground, your more worried about whether it's a penalty or not than whether the bloke is alright?

If Thurston went down injured in a game you'd be more worried about the penalty?

'Oh no Thurston's in the ground in pain, I hope Micheal Morgan complains to the ref that that's a penalty'?

So you think that Cameron Smith tried to contact him and Alex's dad told him to piss off?

Seems unlikely given even the Storm's little media release to defend their honorable captain made no mention of such things.

Maybe he should have left the field and travelled in the ambulance with him?

Or you know, maybe not complain about his team receiving a penalty and saying its all the guys fault as he's carried of the field in obviously a dire situation. You know, be a normal human being.

I don't know what this is, it's nothing to do with what I was referring to.

I'm not worried about anything.

Your demonising is very transparent.

That says "months on end", but the Storm statement says while he was in Melbourne which was only 3 weeks. Which is it?
