Amone will learn a life lesson from this close shave with prison and should now become a better person and footy player. So I say lets stick with the Tongan international as imho he has untapped potential, could even be another Luai. He will blossom in partnership with a half the calibre of Dearden along with our new support staff that will strengthen his weaknesses. So instead of another club benefiting from his talent, as happened with Bud, let his own club benefit instead.
Nope. Even putting aside the disgraceful behaviour, he's several rungs below the quality level we need from a 5/8. Woefully average.

What lesson will he learn? He wouldn't even admit fault. Wouldn't take responsibility or accountability for his own actions. Only thing he has learnt is that you can act like a total piece of shit and not see jail time for it due to being in a position of power.

I get the theory but couldn't disagree more.
The club is in no way going do benefit from having a suspended player on the books AGAIN.

Agreed. What positive lesson is he going to learn from lying and claiming it wasn't him, showing no remorse, and still getting a slap on the wrist

Todd Carney got fired for the bubbler incident at Northies.
Duges got fired for skipping training after having some barcardi breezers on a roof.
But in woke 2023, you have to stand by your players, consider their welfare, yadayada.
Crazy.

Nail. Fricken Head.

Pissing on yourself, or being found drinking on a mates rooftop is a bigger issue for some, than attacking someone with a hammer. Go f**king figure.

Steelers ICO team in action.

I’m with @TruSaint, on this. He’s nailed it.

Ps: these little flips could be the animals that Killed that SA doctor. f**kwits.

Bashing a guy to death for no reason. They’ll catch ‘em too and unlike NSW someone will punish them.

Not condoning juniors method, but put yourself in his shoes at his age, and you see your dad being taunted and threatened by 2 guys with criminal backgrounds and a past history of feuding with your dad.....what are you going to do?

If this was the case, Junior was better off using this in his defence or reasoning for his attack rather than say he wasn't there which he clearly was. His legal team let him down big time going in with that argument to get him off. Cleary they were clutching at straws to get their client off when they knew what he did was bad.

That’s spot on.

Instead someone came up with the lame excuse that he wasn’t there. Maybe the clerk, everybody laughed at first but they may have reluctantly went with it because he had nothing else.

The court didn’t believe he wasn’t there and he was convicted.

And because his sentence was manifestly inadequate, there’s more than a few young punks that are going to instruct their lawyer on the Amone defence.

On your advice, he might have got a community service order!

He should accept that he’s going to lose a fortune. I doubt he can play overseas and play esl. He won’t get a visa.

He may have to slum it out with the rest of us and work for a living.

I think he should return to studies and build himself up inside.

I suppose a roofing course at TAFE is out of the question. It may give him insights though.

If he told this lie in court, can we also assume he told this lie to the club? Grounds for dismissal right there.

I’d be writing him off for a couple of years.

Raid the panther juniors, drag a warrior back home and promote your best and brightest.

Remember that you are in a building phase like us.

At the moment, realistically, neither of us have a team to threaten top 4, but it would be great to go in against all sides, bloody compete and play better footy.

You’ve got a great coach and some very good players as the platform, but a good fist needs to made of that and then hit the market running.

If I was managing the Tigers, I’d be in quiet chats with Flanno.

What are your thoughts of the sacking of the old firm and having O'Farrell and Richo overlooking the footy scene at your club Silverdale?

Saints have great juniors coming through. Amone showed them the best way of screwing up your NRL career. Saints need to also make a statement and sack the bloke. The kids will surely take not of this and hopefully concentrate on the footy and not let any outside noise ruin your future like Amone.

If you compare how Dylan Brown conducted himself and Amone it is chalk and cheese. One showed remorse and regret of his actions the other clearly did not show any.

Hopefully 2 years away from footy will help Amone become a better person and make the right decisions for his future. I feel for the kid and hope he comes out this and can continue his footy in 2 years. He still has years ahead of him to play NRL after he serves his 2 years.

Thanks for asking DD I have a lot of respect for you, even when we disagree.

Very excited and something I’ve been after for about 3 seasons at least.

A lot of bad things were occurring under the old board, especially mates being appointed, Sheens wife was given a job, Hastings, Joffa and Lucy released prematurely.

Bad jerseys, massive cost overruns and bold faces lies. Arrogance and incompetency.

Favoured players like Rowdy walking out.
The whole joint was at war.

And spoons! Strange to say but they were the least of our issues. I’m not exaggerating. If we had a good board and proper staff, if the players were United and having a go and at the optimum, the spoon is less shameful.

But when you think you deserve the spoon as a club, and there is no light on the horizon, that’s hard to cop.

Here in LU, we had a deep and irreconcilable fractures. Friends turning against each other. It was terrible.

So I’m happy something has changed.

I know a lot of you guys are deeply troubled by your board, so I hope our liberation can help you somehow.

If we can pick up and you stay in the doldrums, you might end up like us.

I’d rather you have a peaceful settlement and lift naturally.

I don’t think Benji should be coaching us. I don’t think he’s experienced enough or ready. That’s an unpopular view that’s lost me a lot of friends. But I can sleep fine.

The new board, he’s got no friends to protect him now. That’s a good thing. He will live or die on merit like flanno. That’s the better way. It’s a brutal sport.

Thanks for your heartfelt reply Silverdale - if I can say that. Appreciate your respect, like me of you and the contributions you make.

Finally something to really look forward to like many of the Tigers fan friends I have.

Most clubs do have their bad years, some longer than others but when you are down, the only way is up as the saying goes.

Cheers and good luck and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

I just watched the 20 minute presser by S Richardson.

The guy know his stuff and how to sell it. Very impressive.
