As much as I love seeing Nath in the green and gold I much better prefer him in the blue and gold.. injury free!!! As a player who plays 80mins every game does he really need to play another. Going on tour at the end of the year is one thing, I dont think this one is as important... (waits for the abuse...)

Well Fitzgibbon looks like he will miss the test so Hindmarsh could get in. He's averaged 38 tackles a game so far this season, I think he easily deserves it.

Hindmarsh could come in will be interesting to see what happens.

When do the actual teams get named?

A lot of people seem to suscribe to the notion that it would be better if no Eel made it into any rep squad to avoid any injury possibilities. And that is dandy - reasonably sound logic.

But I beg to differ. I think it would be super beneficial (provided they all are healthy and fit) if as many Eels as possible played any degree of rep footy they had available. I think it would do wonders to boost their confidence and morale.

Plus IF players like Hindy and Morris get chosen to play SoO, for example (it COULD happen; he was nominated as utility of the year last year and with Wing out, he could slot in as a bench impact player), it would make the other forwards (mostly, not all) stop bludging. I mean it's great if Hindy makes 40+ tackles a game, but that is indicative of others not contributing enough in defence.

I don't think he is a State of Origin player. He has not stepped up to that level in the past. He is a GREAT player for the Eels, but the style of SOO doesn't seem to suit him. That is just my opinion.. In saying that I think he is the BEST Club second rower in the NRL...by far. If you follow what I Mean. :?

How anyone can question Fletcher being in the squad is beyond me. Ever since he has joined us he has not had 1 bad game. And thats fair dinkum.

You can put your house on it that Fletch and Mad Dog will be in the test team come Anzac day, and they both deserve to be there.

Michael Vella, Brett Hodgson, and Jason Moodie were never the same players after they played origin 2 years ago. Their confidence dropped and so did their consistency. To those who say Hindmarsh hasn't stepped up in rep games i think that's the coaches fault. Hindy is a starting player, and he always seemed to be selected off the bench for origin where he was less effective.

Eels Dude: Which coach the Blyes coach or Brian Smith cause I'm sure a few people will try to blame that on Smith aswell :D

Blues coach of course ;-). Can't blame Smith for that one. I think Gould was coach at the time and played Hindy off the bench, I think he's a bloke that needs to start the game to show his full effect.

when hindy played origin 2 years ago he was in the biggest form slump of his career. he'll go good if selected this year

Me too.
Fletcher is the best ball playing 2nd rower running around.
I would have had N Hindmarsh.

Fair enough.

But Moodie was still as solid as ever for the Eels after Origin.

Vella's Origin and rep duties got to his head by the looks of it.

Ditto Hodgson. Plus Hodgo punctured a lung and went through a form and confidence slump after Origin, so it's not surprising.

I cannot elaborate on the technicalities beyond my reasoning; I just think if some blokes make any rep side, it will do them good.

Hogo's form slump begun as soon as he's body was launched in to the front row of the sidelines by Tallis. :D

I think it could only do good for em at this stage. 2 years ago it was a different situation as we were great footy side and perhaps the pressure got to them. We're no longer a top quality side and perhaps rep duties will increase the confidence of a few players.
