You know what we should do. Get a bunch of seats together for the Double Header against the Tiges. Have a few beers before the game somewhere and then get the train over and rip it up at the opener, win it and celebrate on the pizz all night. We could even have a round of flaming sambuca's. Who's interested?

Back to the original topic...

I think that sacking CA was the right decision in the end. Sure, he is a good coach, but as an outsider, I think he was creating a bit too much division.

I have a soft spot for the Sharkies, and the events of this year have been quite a sad sight from my view.

Hopefully everything will pick up in the near future, and you will crack it for the first one in the next few years!

Carry on peoples...

Lots of the flaming shots stories that I can recall too with lips welded to glasses etc. My favourite was a mate many years ago trying to impress a new babe after a big night out back at his holidaying parents' place and break a long rumpy pump drought that he had been sustaining with frequent visits to the Cross. These were the days of flaming exotic coffees about 1980 where you were supposed to light the grog in a high stem glass, burn it for a while, pour in the coffee, then the cream which gradually extinguished the fire and left it all layered in different colours. You present the drink, she says, "wow, you SNAG", she drinks it, off for some nude Twister. I think he eventually got there but only after having a little trouble with the first 5 champagne glasses that he chose exploding with the fire. He thought at the time, the end justified the means, I'll just replace Mum's glasses and I'll still be ahead compared to paying for another then $30 visit to the Cross. That was until he discovered the glasses were hand blown European lead crystal that cost $50 each to replace!!!! Fortunately the babe subsequently ended up as Mrs. Mate and he managed to recover the investment - just.

I was taught that it burns the alcohol away - therefore is a no no.

Spot on, Cranks. Any decent chef will tell you that.

So if anyone who tells you they did 20 flaming Sambucas in the one night, you can tell them they were technically cheating ;-)

A decent chef writes: That is correct.

But...if you light it, then immediately extinguish the flame by covering the glass with a coaster, you can then inhale the fumes. The alcohol hits your bloodstream almost immediately.

I don't recommend it any more but it does work.

I'm getting real sick of you putting the boot into the sharks every comment you make. If you can't be positive about the club because youre pinup boy was sacked for being incompetent, then go & follow another club.
Try this one, they will be ready nexy year www.GoldCoastJets.com.au

So what's it like on the defensive, BT? You don't seem to handle it all that well. Bit harder to cop it rather than shovel it, eh?

A hint: try to be constructive, rather than just reactive - it only makes you look petty. If not, try not to get so upset, it will age you prematurely, and none of us want that.

Mate, when you tone down the pro Ando bias, then perhaps your posts might approach something constructive.

Soon or later you would've have to face the fact that Ando arriving at the club wasn't 'right this it it." How far would the Sharks club have had to fall before you and all the other Ando apologists realised 'right this isn't its.'?

I was willing to see Anderson have one more year, but personally I feel a weight has lifted from the club with his departure.

I went twice. 7 & 10. Had two beers.
It was fairly dead.
Plus I didn't have anyone to play with.
& all the ugly chicks were already taken.
All in all, it was a disaster.

I checked out Cronulla RSL. Drunken youngens rampant as per every Friday night. I only had one beer, it was boring, then went home.

Chris Anderson has my 100% support and sought of see him as a role model.

I do think that the Cronulla board was a bit stupid not paying out any money too him and not expected to be sued.

I know that Chris Anderson will win his court case against Cronulla Sutherland and they deserve everything they get.

Also I heard a rumour about Chris Anderson that when he was to have meeting on the Friday, which he didn't show up too because 'the doctor said he couldn't'. The real reason that I heard was that he was talking with some members and major sponsors in attempt to overthrow the board.

Shall we try with "...I sort of see him as a role model." Mate, Ando isn't the best orator on the block, and I daresay his written spelling and grammar are about as sharp as his razor, which he really should replace. Unless, of course, he thinks it it appropriate to attend major meetings and the like with a 2 day try-hard shadow.

As for the club being a bit stupid NOT paying him out...Luke, have you got $1.2 Million? That is the figure he will be seeking. Also, I think the words you were looking for were 'to' instead of 'too', and 'expect' rather than 'expected'.

Now Luke, there are plenty of legal eagles in Sydney and surrounds who would LOVE to have you in their employ, if you are able to so confidently and accurately predict the outcome of major legal cases. Please also bear in mind that, even if the club is forced to pay even SOME of the money being sought by their former employee, it will be the members of the club who will suffer. Do those financial members 'deserve everything they get?'. Of course not.

Finally, the rumour mill is in overdrive this week Luke, so don't believe everything that you hear. Besides, that job has already been taken by Morpheus, who will no doubt be intrigued to hear about your latest 'gem', concerning Mr Anderson's 11th hour attempt to pull off the coup of the year to overthrow the board.

Sorry, but I really didn't have anything better to do while my emails downloaded. Next week's lesson will be on something else. And Luke? Happy 16th for sometime next year.

Ahhh ...the drink thread .....this is gold

I had a gig at luna park last night, and by the 3rd set i was almost to tanked to play. I had to lean against my amp for the 1st 2 songs. Free beer just seems to go down that extra bit more smoother.....

Getting paid to drink beer and perve on chicks is hard work i tell ya

My big drink was Friday night. Had about 15 beers at the Wato Bay hotel for Chrissy drinks, got a $60 cab ride back to Caringbah. Went to a mates house and sat in his Jacuzzi drinking Wild Turkey all night. Finished up about 7.30am. Got a golden duck and 2 for 22 off 9 overs in between throwing up at cricket.
