Frenzy, the meeting was well and truly finished by the time the first chat user registered the result here, you have always seemed to have a handle on things but have dropped the ball on this one. I also saw the report on Fox at that time so the person who posted is very credible and was correct, perhaps an apology should be given ?

I think the decision had to be made, however if the board thinks that has saved them, they are wrong.
I don't blame anyone for not believing me because I never post in this forum. I only posted what I saw on TV.

Anyway Phil Bailey has just played his last match for the Kangaroos. :D

It happens to even the most elite of footballers Frenz , no worries ! :)

The SIMPLE, LOGICAL solution for the board is what ?

Give Raper a ONE year deal for the same money he was on as assistant. HE wants to price himself at NRL level, HE should make the sacrifces, not be spoon fed a cushy first grade job from his old mates at his old club.

Give him one year and then re-assess after that year.

It'll have to do because even though I'm no SR fan we don't need anymore mucking around.

If this is close to how they'll go I'll be happy with that.

I fear this is a long way from over though

Well at least we have this mess sorted and can now move on. I'd say only time will reveal if this was a good move or not. I'm worried that we will have to pay his contract out, however I'm sure there was likely problems with sponsors if Ando stayed, so it was probably a lose lose situation.

You hit the nail on the head there ali. I think it's a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. We just have to hope & pray that this is the lesser of the 2 evils, and that we will still have a club to support next year after the impending ginormous payout that will no doubt eventuate from this.

FFS, and mine is bigger than yours too.

Marty & Co - Guys, this site is slow enough to load on a good day, if you haven't got anything to add about Anderson being sacked, then go and pull each other off somewhere else.

I am sure a low posting dragins fan would not count as one, for the record the following are people I believe are credible.
Frenzy
Jimbo
PJ
Sharkette
Beeker

and our Manly friend Chileman everyone else is in the process of either gaining or working up credibility
What about your old Friend Ben, Marty?

Good Luck.

At least you did not wait until just b4 the first round like we did with Coleman/Langmack.

Good wishes with the following season.

I also know Steve Linnane is coming back.

Good Coach.

well you have finally punted the man who was, and i quote from the very lips of your ceo steve rogers the right man who was going to bring you your 1st premiership, well now what fin fans, no doubt anderson will now take the club to court and get the rest of his contract money and more, all the while your board should also have taken most of the blame, re: rogers
pierce, and co, sure its easy to blame the coach when things dont go your way in a season in 2002 ando got the club to the semi's, this year was a shocker for all at your club, you let go a fair amount of talent and you didnt buy anyone of note, no doubt your club will bounce back in a year or 2 or 3, trust me being a wests tigers supporter i and many wt no what you will be going through in 2004, the main focus will be on the court case and rapers performance next year and you all better pray that raper can get you into the semi's if not the board should all step down from there positions, sacking the current australian coach for a unknown
bloke in raper is a bigggg gamble, that myself and a lot of people can only see as suicide, love him or hate him anderson was the best thing that has happened at the sharks for a long time, sacking him was not the way to go though, i wish you all well next year fin fans ..... ya gonna need it!!!!

My question: At which club did Anderson leave on good terms?

None but he won premierships at all of them except Cronulla

Fair call mafia. I think the Sharks will either be very poor or astound everyone. Sometimes uproar like this brings a team together but given these particular circumstances things dont look good.
I still believe things were heading in the right direction and there is some very good talent in the club. Lets hope Raper or whoever can do a job. A good position to be in as a coach as he hasnt much to lose.

Well I hope to god that, as a club, we survive this debacle.

Anderson is going to take us for his full pay and probably get damages to boot.

Raper has a similar reputation as Anderson, but doesn't have any successes on the field to balance it.

I hope I'm wrong, but we could well look back on 2003 with some fondness during what could well be a very long 2004 season.

Half the players are at the joint because of the coach.

the board are still in place.

I am getting sick to death of reading this obscene misrepresentation.

A truer statement would be that half the quality players who left after 2001 and 2002 are gone because of the coach.
