Ando's Signings - Flash or Trash ? - the legacy

Ando bought us Kimmorley & Kimmorley CAN do as no other has done - bring us a premiership.

I have an old mate who hated Ando & reckoned he was shite & should go. I said he can't have achieved any less than the last 35 years of coaches & I was prepared to give him a go (under sufferance).
He brought to the club the best player in the most important position & for that we must be thankful - we wont win a premiership without Kimmorley, we all know that.

If we win 1 with Kimmorley at the helm, Ando was well worth it.

carl was ando's. I heard he was playing down the coast, what im not sure. Probally grand theft auto on ps2. Im sure he reckons hes scarface or something

 LMAO  See Karl played a couple of good games for us and I think he even got a Dally M point on one occasion but unfortunately for him the Sharks played Rugby League not Ultimate Death Match and hence the judiciary made sure he didn't play consecutive games.

Just one flaw with that theory CS.

Preston Campbell.

This statement confuses me Reefy. Are you saying that the Sharks would have been more likely to win a premiership had they kept Preston Campbell and not bought Brett "Goddy" Kimmorley? Personally I don't think that we would have won with Preston assuming we played Ando's style. We needed to have Preston for Langy or Kim for Ando. Best thing about Lim' Kim though is that he probably could play under anyone with out fuss, Preston on the other hand has only really had success under one coach.

I reckon we'd have a premiership by now if we had Preston Campbell at halfback and John Lang coaching...

Langy has proven himself so who can argue but......
Preston (as much as I rate him) will win you a game or 3 on brilliance, whereas Noddy will win you a premiership.

Noddy is better, however.....
Why wasnt Preston 5/8 for us? He didnt have to leave :(

for me noddy is a class above.

but a confident firman at half with a flashing preston at 5/8 could've been a lethal duo, allowing more some money under the cap for more firepower up front.

all conjecture though now and i'm more than happy to have the game's best player at half and captain for the sharks. more importantly to me he's proven his commitment and professional determination to the club. big up noddy

why wasnt preston 5/8?

Matt Johns......

Presso was given a crack at just about every position, but failed to really cement a spot

Dont blame him though .....at the time he only wanted to play half back, and was totally disgruntled and hurt that nod had came in and mowed his grass, which is understandable considering he just won the dally m in that position the prior year.

Im stoked we've got nod, but the thing our team misses without preston is that crowd pulling ability he had.......... he seems to be playing a more subdued role now at the panf's, with boring gower taking a bit of an edge out his flair through controlling 90% the attacking plays ........i reckon we'lll see the best of preston again when he joins the gold coast

.......we'll have that back though in 2006/7 when mezz grabs the #1......ooooooh yeeeea

Exactly cheese.

i'm bound to forget a few. there's a few who could maybe still go either way, but i resisted the urge to sit on the fence.

Lang was asked the question once why he win the comp in such a short time with Penrith and yet he couldn't win one in such a long time with Cronulla. His answer - Penrith had better players. I guess that answers that.

"Mezz" is a flash in the pan. Mezz is 22 years old, if he doesn't live up to his hype this year, he'll be looking for another club. He needs to take a laxative to maintain consistency.

Lang made it clear that Cronulla were at least 2 seasons away from winning a comp...
