Bell & Gibbs are basically the same style of player.

He is alot like Gibbs in that he is a starting player, not a great bench player. The more minutes the better he is. Look at his game against Souths. He is capable of that every week.

We are in the perfect position with Ellis & Heighno out to play Woods at lock for 80 minutes and start Galloway & Bell to provide real balance

Woods and Groat are an essential part of the WTs succession plan and any decision to let either go imo would be a huge mistake. WTs know what Gibbs and Fifita can and can't do. Woods and Groat being younger have yet to reach their full potential but even now Woods' consistency, maturity and ability is noticeable. No doubt Groat has the same ability.

Next year with Ellis leaving and Heighington going not long after, there is likely to be promotions of Vela, Moses F and perhaps others. This means BMM, Woods and Groat need as much experience as possible in the NRL to provide a core of experienced young players. Imagine a backrow of Blair, BMM, Dwyer, Vela and Sant. Formidable if Dwyer hadn't been injured.

Another bonus is having Payten as coach of the U20s. A premiership winning player and a smart prop. No better person to coach the younger players.

In terms of right now I would take Woods and BMM over Gibbs and Fifita.

I would take John Morris in the second row over Blair the way he has been performing

I would take a small amount of monkey crap in a zip lock bag over Moltzen

You just ruined a perfectly good ziplock bag.

I don't miss fifta at all. From all reports his attitude stinks and he has the tendency to go missing and get lazy on the field. He was obviously on the outer with the tigers player because his interview the other day was a load of sh*t!

I think Moltzen cops a hard time but this post deserves a bravo.

I also think Woods and BMM are much better than Gibbs and Fifita.

We wanted woods and groat also but sheens kept them and got rid of Fifita and Gibbs. Interesting and I see his point but given you are in a "win now" situation you would think he would of let one of Groat and woods go and kept the experience of say a Gibbs. Fifita is on under 300k and for his potential that's a fair deal especially to get him to a club like ours who had 3 very poor seasons.

I rate Fifita and was sorry to see him go, but he looks even unfitter now then when he was with the Tigers last year...

When is he going to play longer then 20 minutes??

Kicked on from what? From what I've seen of him I never expected him to graduate from first grade.

Junior is playing Bundy Cup for St Johns (not quite sure why).

Neil Begovich is playing Group 6 with mates as far as I know. Something about having sour graps that Groat made the top grade ahead of him, so he threw it in.

I always hate hearing stories like this. I fear some other team will pick them up for a song and they will go onto to be really solid players...

I'll say this about fifita.
Firstly he should stop speaking out about his old team. It's going well at the sharks and he should leave it at that.

As far as his form goes.....

I'd rate him a c so far.
He could be an a. Has potential. Does intangible things and actually has good hands for a big lump.
The problem I have is he remains IMO unfit and should be doing more.

The sharks are completely different when the bench is on and the likes of Gibbs and Ross go off.
Part of it is him. Part of it is tagatese and the rotation of graham into the bench as he needs to be in the team but not the halves.

Its not a huge deal at the moment, as the team is performing well with 80 minutes from gallen and bakuya and big minutes from Ross Gibbs and smith.

He has things to work on. Jury is out

In regards to Gibbs he's been very good in the games he's played.
Snagging both was fortuitous.

Perhaps the non signing of snowden was better in the long run as we were able to get carnet when he fell out of the sky.

I'd also add that all dressing rooms arent as great places when you aren't winning.

Story around here some time ago was that Begovich had other things in mind, aside from professional football. Or was that some other player?

Yeah you are right NC , it had something to do with a building business or career he was wanting to pursue and couldnt get anything concrete from the tigs so he moved on . Someone here may know the full story i guess

You Sharkies have done well out ex Tigers players. Both your hookers are ex Tigers, the indestructable John Morris and Isaac De Gois and now Gibbs and Fifita. What happened to Dean Collis? Did he not bounce back from injury or was he limited by not getting quality ball from your halves?
