exhausted from playing the best team the preceeding monday and defending our arses off all game.
Yeah, ok  Fancy that, a professional football team "exhausted" 6 days after they last played, when that's what they're paid to do and train for.

I have my excuse ready for the next time we lose.

hope we face each other in the finals - fully fit and recharged we would rip you a new one, no doubt.
As do I, considering our 4 best players (Hodgo, Marshall, Head & Farah) were playing their first game together (Head coming off the bench to boot), Marshall & Farah both first game back from injury, missing two key forwards (Payten & Harrison), geez, this excuses thing is easy once you get started.

Moth loves his pies.

Speaking of pies, I was in the Andrew Johns stand miles up (still a good view though, cause you see everything) but I looked down to my left on that hill where all the WTF'ers (I presume) were and guess who sticks out like dog balls, big bad alien. He loves his trackie dacks...

no excuse, we played poorly - im not happy with the attitude or execution. to win we had to bash you up the middle and keep the defence tight, and we failed to do that. the likes of Wicks and to a lesser degree Houston should hang their heads in shame.

you guys can only play who is infront of you, and did that. I dont think you played that badly at all actually - I don't know where Sheens is getting that from.

but that doesnt change the fact you were nearly full strength, and that was (hopefully) the worst team we will put on the park all year. If the team that ran out against melb had ran out against you it would have been a very different story. If you cant see that you are downright thick.

having said that, we were very very poor yesterday and didn't deserve the win.

I hope so too. Just so I can see Farah make Bedsy his bitch.

We didn't play bad we lacked intensity
We expected to win and went through the motions knowing the class of the Golden 4 of Hodgo, Benji, Head, Farah would get us through
The crowd was also very quiet ... one newcastle chant after the try after HT and that was it ... maybe the dull atmosphere contributed to the lack of intensity

So apparently there is an excuse. Stop lying.

If you think we played with high intensity, you are downright thick. Check out the attitude in defence round 2 vs the Cowgirls. If that side turns out yesterday, we win 38-6 - you don't score those 3 soft tries but might still have jagged that bullocks try from the kick. Both teams were very ordinary, we just did enough to win. Sheens is right to give the team a spray, hopefully behind closed doors he isn't singling anyone out like in the media and playing favourites but who knows.

you didn't play with intensity and neither did we. excuse? explanation more like it. again, for the slow - you were close to full strength, we were nowhere near. you fail to acknowledge the impact of this.

crowd was quiet - some of us never stop but overall the crowd only gets into it if we are ahead and/or its close at the end. its really disappointing and has been since the new stand was built. i cant quite explain it - we went from an involved crowd to a morgue.

Arriving 40 minutes before kick off with both hills packed and the grandstands filling I expected a home atmosphere that would rival Leichhardt. However as MOTH says the atmosphere was very subdued and ordinary. You could even here the players shouting in defence out in the middle during patches of the game.

I know at Leichhardt the crowd puts immense pressure on the ref and I feared this would be the case at Marathon, however the Knights fans seemed very quiet. I fould this strange considering the reputation Newcastle fans have for their loyalty and passions.

It certainly made it an easier afternoon for us. There were plenty of Tigers fans around and even a few ironic cheers when Hampstead awarded us our first penalty 20 minutes in.

Certainly makes a change from 2004 or going back even further to 1990 when that grub Butterfield claimed a try that he had as much right to claim as I have a right to claim that I knocked off Megan Gale on Saturday night

 More excuses.

I would say you guys played with more enthusiasm, you were just out-classed. We didn't play with any which is why it was a lot closer than it should have been. If we matched your level of intensity we win by 30. But what's done is done, we still got the chocolates and Sheens will fire the boys up for this week hopefully.

Newcastle has the crappiest atmosphere of all games. I went to all the knights home games in 2004 when I lived there, and every game they played, win lose or draw, the crowd just didn't seem to care.

I recall watching some old ladies knitting.

gee, that sounds like an excuse from you....

if you think we played with intensity you are even more dense than I thought. take it you haven't watched a Knights game this year? we were absolutely positively flat.

and yes, Knights crowds are pretty awful these days. there are about 50 of us that try to get things going, and 20,000 that don't seem to give a sh*t. sometimes we get abused for being too loud at the footy. sorry state of affairs.

And which RSL did you pick that old f**king bag out of that sung river deep ? f**k me I thought we had some sh*t pre match entertainment but nana jones singing river deep after she won some rsl or fanny's karaoke comp took the biscuit. If i'd have known i'd have stayed at the pie shop and had another couple of pies

Marathon stadium ain't the cauldron it was ...

Nana Jones? lol

Would beat our mullet man ground announcer, surely?

I thought I'd seen it all, but a couple of weeks back at Shark Park it was revealed their GA is worse than ours. Hard to believe.

That twat at endeavour field was mark occoluppo's lovechild or nat young's dad or something.

He works in the shop selling strawberry mooves in summer but employment in the shire dries up in winter so they gave him a gig at the football

This nana had to be seen to be believed .. 50 if she was a day, singing some motown f**king dirge that hasn't been that butchered since that bogan jimmy barnes did it and she got a t shirt or something

I also doff my hat to the genius who thought they'd make a motza selling snow cones on a day that is 12 degrees.
