I remember steve noyce saying he would like to have more games at c'town and lo but he didn't say it would happen. He also said that eventually they would like to move the base from concord to campbelltown but once again they didn't say it will happen

Bit like what youre doing with the club eh?
Accusing them of not living up to promises they supposedly, made.
...but promises were made about the amount of games we would get and the business side should do more to deliver on those promises.
You were pretty certain of things then, but now its ..."I don't recall when I heard it or for what season it was."

Its really easy to hang sh*t on the club, youve been here all of 15 minutes, but if thats how you wanna come across. Theres usually enough to be genuinely critical of without resorting to fabricating things.

Or maybe you just ''misheard/read''.

The only thing I haven't been clear on is when and where I heard it. And I read so much on the internet its pretty hard to keep all the references to post with every comment I make regarding what I heard along the way.

I certainly did not come in here with the intention of making something up.. I remember hearing it and I mentioned it.. so f**king what.. now you want to jump all over it... why? are you upset I spent the day LOL @ souffs or something???

Well I have better things to do with my time than bookmark and file every article I read.

Believe what you want. Have I ever come into any forum and started posting lies before??? Nope.

I'm not known for it so why would I start making stuff up now.

Either way believe what you want, makes no difference to me other than a change in opinion of the type of person you are.

...and I can see the type of person you are too, it surprises me tbh....all too eager and ready to lay the boot into the club based on some wishy washy fantasy maybe memory of something you read/heard/saw/was told that hasnt in fact happened..
And you been here all of 15 minutes too.

Thats how it looks, Mish...your call if you run with it.

From memory the quotes were that Telstra was being renewed for one season so that he option of moving more games back to LO & CS could be explored depending on each grounds improvements with particular refferencing of lights, big screens and corporate facilities.

Also from memory the club has openly stated that they wished to work out a deal with Campbelltown Council for further upgrades on the promise of more games and a shift of corporate and training headquarters to CS. But this again got lost in the back and forth of "We will move more games if money is spent" and "We will spend money if you move more games"

CT Hindmarsh stadium is quite a good ground to watch RL. Although my experience was soured byy watching Balmain be absolutely decimated that night

What one comment negative to be club is putting the boot in???

Sheesh, I'm very careful with how critical I am of the club in public forums. I remember it being said about playing more games at home grounds then seeing that hasnt happen... I make a comment that they should try to follow through ( I even mention that I understand why they use ANZ ) and you want to call me not only a liar, but tell me I put the boot into the club?

Talk about a gross over reaction.

That sounds extremely familiar and may be linked to the time I was refering to.

You said 'promises' were made and broken....but meh, details arent your strong point eh.

There were no promises as such, thus no over reaction whatsoever, moreso gross exaggeration on your part.

You over reacted by accusing me of lying and putting the boot in. I didn't come in here lying and I didn't lay the boot in. Laying the boot in is repeatitive kicks at the club.... where have I done this?

The whole promises thing is still in waiting isn't it. What Smeg mentioned above is very likely the time I was talking about therefore we are yet to see if they follow through and we get more games after the upgrading of the stadiums, and therefore I wasn't lying about hearing this was to happen.

So even if the stadiums are upgraded.. they didn't say it would mean more games for us there?

All I recall reading was that upgrades to Campbelltown were being stalled because the Government/Council believed the stadium wasn't used enough, and the reason the stadium wasn't used enough is that it's not up to standard (lighting, commentary/coproprate boxes etc).

Leichhardt has been looking for funding for upgrades to the stands for years and is solely reliant upon Government grants I believe.

So while the club waits for these Government/Council grants, the club will continue to play games at other stadiums. Personally they should play more games at Campbelltown now. A fan base needs to be cemented out that way, especially with the talk of a second Sydney AFL team being based in the Western Suburbs.

My opinion is that we won't be seeing a very great increase (if there is an increase) in the number of games being played from Campbelltown and Leichhardt in the near future. If the Campbelltown Stadium can get the upgrade, then I wouldn't be surprised if the Tigers base themselves out of Campbelltown in the not to distant future, playing say 8 home games there and maybe 1 or 2 at Leichhardt and the rest at other grounds (ie - Jade Stadium, ANZ, SFS, SCG, Bluetongue etc).

As much as I'd love to have half the games at Leichhardt and half at Campbelltown, realistically speaking, Campbelltown is going to have a better chance of getting its upgrade than Leichhardt.

While on this topic I found this last night. Its from 2004 and is about why we aren't playing at CS & LO.

Tigers to call Homebush Bay home
By Steve Mascord

August 6, 2004

Wests Tigers' move to Telstra Stadium will involve staging their most attractive four or five games there each year until 2009.

Sources say negotiations are all but finalised, with the joint-venture club aiming to time the announcement so that it causes the minimum amount of backlash from Balmain and Western Suburbs traditionalists.

News of a possible move emerged two weeks ago. It is understood that next year, the contract will probably mean four home games at Telstra Stadium, one at Christchurch's Jade Stadium and the rest split between Leichhardt Oval and Campbelltown Stadium.

But if each club loses a home game with the expansion of the NRL in 2006, Telstra Stadium may host more Wests Tigers matches than either of their original venues.

"We are in discussions and we'd be delighted to have Wests Tigers playing at Telstra Stadium," was all the venue's chief executive, Ken Edwards, would say last night.

Wests Tigers CEO Steve Noyce could not be contacted last night but when he was asked about the issue last week, he said: "Given that we are trying to get some finance to upgrade both Leichhardt Oval and Campbelltown Stadium, we are having discussions.

"We are looking into our options for places to play matches while that proposed renovation is taking place."
