Or concerned about gradually rebuilding the club, after it was decimated by the Kearney/Stewart years?
We badly need a few veterans with winning in their blood to teach the talented youngsters focus (at least at training etc), even if they might be past their consistent rep-level best on the field (Watmough, Scott). At least Foran is coming to us at a useful time in his career.
In the market at the moment sadly we can't encourage key players or veterans to leave their club (or come to a lowly one like ours) without either personal links or financial/duration incentives. That situation will turn around once we make finals football again, and look like a more attractive prospect as a club.
Hayne could have ensured we made the finals last year with a better effort - in both halves - of his final two games. But with all of his talent and blue and gold heart he dogged it, and we are still having to sign up veterans for overs.
