Or concerned about gradually rebuilding the club, after it was decimated by the Kearney/Stewart years?

We badly need a few veterans with winning in their blood to teach the talented youngsters focus (at least at training etc), even if they might be past their consistent rep-level best on the field (Watmough, Scott). At least Foran is coming to us at a useful time in his career.

In the market at the moment sadly we can't encourage key players or veterans to leave their club (or come to a lowly one like ours) without either personal links or financial/duration incentives. That situation will turn around once we make finals football again, and look like a more attractive prospect as a club.

Hayne could have ensured we made the finals last year with a better effort - in both halves - of his final two games. But with all of his talent and blue and gold heart he dogged it, and we are still having to sign up veterans for overs.

It might cost him in the long term but given our club's history I'd say Arthur is more concerned about seeing out his current contract.

Pou, I can state the BA is not concerned about seeing out his contract, that is nowhere near an issue with him, far from it

Spoke to him yesterday and it's all about getting the club on the right footing, he knows what needs to be done and is working to fix it as quickly as possible. He wont be going anywhere

Good to hear, but talk is cheap.

Our highest finish since '07 was eighth place (in '09). That is proof the club was decimated long before Kearney arrived with Arthur and Nolan. Stuart was only here a year - nowhere near long enough to make any meaningful changes.

Good to see he's not willing to spill his guts to random fans. Looks like he's lumped you in with the journos.

watmough has played 291 games.a lot of finals and origins. In miles he has a lot and done soe hard city driving. In the nfl they compare peoples bodies to cars. Its sports science. They would say watmough has a lot of miles and not a lot of petrol left in the tank and could break anytime.

Also while people on here accept Manah as a captain and first grade player they are accepting failure. He is just a first grade prop. Friends following other teams laugh at the guy. They call him a big pillow. Beeing fans its easier to over rate your own guys.

The revolution has begun - sweeping changes in the wind.
The final planks of the Eels resurrection are now coming into play leading to the Eels challenging for the 2016 GF.

It's great to see Choc has come to Crappamatta for his retirement fund.

And good old Parrasuper is paying high dividends to old farts end year contacts.....

lol

Choc has been good for us. Was awesome against Souths and Manly. The past two weeks he's been ordinary through trying too hard. And anyway he got us Foran for less than Manly were offering. You can't put a price on that.

What was Manly offering? And what did we offer?

Watmough should be leading by example: good linespeed, the try saving tackle, putting on a big hit.

I don't think he is doing it enough.

People expecting great consistent form from players like Watmough and Scott at this part of there careers are dreaming.

They will always put in effort, but their bodies will not respond, either through injury or fatigue, they will not give value for money at all.

They are the sort of players you buy cheaper and to compliment a very talented young side that needs to learn ruthlessness.

We are far from talented at the moment the way this team is performing, they are and would be wasted and are definitely not cheap.

Sports science!!

Buy an older guy that know one wants, like mason or Kite for leadership. They cost not a lot and if dont work out it wont matter. But a guy like these two i mentioned would cost 1/3rd and offer same experience. Not as good players but low risk too.
