Sounds like Gus is covering for the board screw up though fans of other clubs just say hurr durr Gus is bad guy.

It’s his job, and he is good at it.
He would make a great politician.
The stress involved in this situation is crazy, just look at the forums as a guide, fans are loosing there minds, boards are attacking each other and all guns are aimed at Gus.
I think the statements he has released have been pretty good, and nobody has managed to catch him out with an obvious lie during a direct interview.
Hook is more than likely going to take aim at Gould as well because he can and he wants another job, but it will change nothing, because the only definite thing so far is Griffin is sacked and as others have said that is awesome for the Panthers no matter who coaches next.

I can’t find the post where I mentioned this back in January but I was informed by Ciraldos father in-law that Ciraldo was tasked with our attack that that Gus had taken over the management/delegation of tasks for every day training, selection input and had a significant role.

Had mentioned that this was always the intention

There is 2 questions I would love to know.......why did Gould sign Griffin in the first place. Myself and several others on this forum thought it was a poor decision at the time.
Why did Gould extend Griffins contract at the end of last year when Griffin still had a year to go on his contract. Gould admitted recently that the problems with Griffin dated back to April 2017.

He’s likely cost the club over $1m in a payout.

I’d also say it’s his ego that doesn’t want Ivan to come back either.

Look Gus has his faults but hes forgotten more about the game than our entire board know.

The board would have had to authorise the extension and who’s to say Gus eas behind that considering he openly admitted yesterday there were issues midway through last season that he raised to the board.

I can’t agree it’s his ego not wanting Ivan when there are far better coaches out there who would surely be interested. Watch his interview from yesterday morning. It’s clear he was ambushed by the board and was just facing the music at that interview, and because he is the face of the club, has to tow the company line.

The fact the board appear to be putting all their eggs in one basket for Ivan just to keep Nathan is a f**king joke. The kid is talented but it’s not like he’s the second coming of Andrew Johns. Gus knows this, hell everyone on this board realises it, and it’s why the board pulled a swifty on him.
