2 good payperview cards coming up ufc 74 looks good with randy couture defending the heavyweight title against gabriel gonzaga, shoild be a gooden. but ufc 75 stands out when there will be a champion vs champion fight, ufc vs pride when Quinton Jackson faces Dan Henderson, this should be huge!

Randy Cotoure has retired:
http://mmajunkie.com/2007/10/11/dana-white-not-surprised-by-randy-coutures-retirement/

Apparently it's because Fedor Emeilianenko has singed with M-1 and not the UFC. With Fedor vs. Randy being the only logical fight at heavyweight there's no point in Randy Staying.

Pretty sad, but I agree. While Randy is and always will be a legend, it just seems like there's not much point in continuing if he's not going to get a change to fight fedor...

Very disappointing news. While Fedor-Couture is the big fight left for him, Nogueira is right there as the likely #1 contender and stylistically is probably as much of a challenge for Randy as Emelianenko would be, it's a real shame we won't get to see that fight happen now.

Sucks we won't see him in the UFC anymore, i just hope it means that we eventually do get Randy vs Fedor, be it in M-1, Bodog, they can fight on a street corner for all i care, i just really need to see that fight.

Really sad to hear Randy's retiring. Pretty fitting that he retires as champion. I think Minotauro would of been an awesome match up for Randy. What a ground battle that would of been.

sucks to hear about randy, although he has already retired once. hopefully now Sylvia can get the belt back!

seeing as we are doing fave fighters, heres mine:

1. Joe Stevenson (pretty entertaining, doesnt take himself too seriously, good on the ground)
2. Chuck Liddell (besides the jardine fight i always enjoy watching him and he likes punk music lol)
3. Matt Hughes (i like all the miletich guys and hes the main miletich guy, besides pat himself of course. always been a fan of matt)
4. Georges St Pierre (everyone likes this guy, hes so into fighting, fun to watch, and just a really cool guy)
5. Forrest Griffin (great fighter, pretty entertaining)
6. Tim Sylvia
7. Quinton Jackson "Rampage"
8. Tito Ortiz (a lot of people seem to hate him but he genuinely seems to love mma and proved it during the tuf 3 series.)
9. Rich Franklin
10. Keith Jardine

I also like Joe Daddy. His fight with Kurt Pellegrino was awesome.

Forrest Griffin is definitely one of the most exciting fighters in the game, but damn he can be reckless lol. His face is just so scarred up allready.

That fight he had with Shogun was one of the best of the year.

Franklin by split decision
Truth by Guillotine choke in the 3rd round
Belcher by TKO in the 2nd round
Bonnar by unanimous decision
Okami by TKO in the 3rd round
Gurgel by Guillotine choke in the 3rd round
Petz by unanimous decision

Don't know much about the other 2 fights tbh.

Grice Vs Black
Jensen Vs Maia

So I reserve judgement.

im hoping for big wins for bonnar, sylvia and franklin. i really cant see franklin beating silva tho.

apparently chuck liddell is still going to face wanderlei silva at ufc 79 which will also have hughes vs serra where the winner will defend against GSP at a future event.

whats everyones thoughts on Houston Alexander? future champ? or just get lost in the light heavyweight fold?

I think Alexander will cause some headaches for guys like Jardine and Griffen, haven't seen enough of him to tell if he's championship material, but I think he can definitely work his way into the 2nd tier.

I've only seen 2 Houston Alexander fights. His knockouts of Jardine & Sakara. He obviously has some pretty scary punchin power. Don't know if he's got the ground game or take down defense to be a champion though.

Alexander is actually the well known grafitti artist Fas One. Which is amazing.

New signing for the MMA

> BROCK LESNAR SIGNS DEAL WITH UFC
- Well, here comes the pain! The youngest WWE Heavyweight champion ever
Brock Lesnar is now entering a different kind of a sport - mixed martial
arts. UFC President Dana White yesterday announced the signing of Brock
Lesnar during the UFC PPV at the US Bank Arena. "I don't think there are any
other pro wrestlers that can make the transition to MMA, except for Brock
Lesnar," said White. "And if you look at his amateur wrestling credentials,
his size, and what he's done, this guy can end up being a force in the
heavyweight division of the UFC." Lesnar tried for the NFL a couple of years
ago after quitting WWE in 2004 however his dream of becoming an NFL player
was cut short as he was dropped from the team before the season started. "If
you want to go with the NFL of the fighting game, it's the UFC, and it was
an easy choice for me," said Lesnar. "Obviously I don't think I'm ready for
a title shot right away, but I will be there, and I'm not gonna turn down
any opponent because I'm here to prove myself. I'm not here to pick and
choose my fights. I'll fight whomever they want. I don't make the fights;
that's not my job. I've got one job to do and that's to fight."

Should be interesting. How do you think he will go
