Those of you that keep reffering to these rookie coaches that have won comps ...please consider this.

2013- roosters -robinson
Mini
Jennings
RTS
Maloney
Warea Hargraves
SBW *

2014 - Souths -Michael Maguire
Alex Johnsom
Lote Tuquiri
Adam Reynolds
Sam Burgess
Greg Inglis *
Isaac Luke ( suspended for GF )

2015 - Cowboys - Paul Green
Michael Morgan
James Tamou
Ben Hannant
Mat Scott
J Taumalolo
Johnathon Thruston *

These coaches had a bit of help I'd say.
Some of those players are the best players in the game.
Each team had 1 player that is arguably the best player in the world at that position when they won it.

We have some good players but lets not kid ourselves that we were ever in the same ball park (in terms of rosters) as these teams when they won.

I get what you are saying there, they definitely had the tools in place to take out the comp.

But...I dont think Flanno would win the comp if he was coach of those teams at the same time.

Apart from that loss last year to the cows Flano managed to do a few jobs on green
Got roosters a few time too

That was with Robbo

Easy to say, but the fact is he hasn't had a squad like that to prove otherwise. The closest he has come in terms of squads is this year's one. And Brissy / Nth Qld are still better.

We also beat the roosters twice in 2014 when Flanno wasn't there.
Good test will be this week and what game plan he comes against the tigers who as we know do not play grinding style of football..

T0 add to that, people have short memories about the talent vacuum Flanno inherited from Stuart.

Stuart couldn't attract many name players and we constantly got players with "potential"' like Josh Cordoba, Broderick wright, Taulima etc.

The talent that Flanno has got to the Club as experienced players or new young talent like Feki, Holmes, Jack Bird etc. has been some of the best recruiting the Club has ever been involved with.

We are going to see some results of this hard work in the next few years.

I don't think anyone in this thread has questioned Flanno's ability to attract the right talent and to put a team together?

For the record though, it was Shep who brought Holmes to the club.

Compared to who Stuart could recruit Flanno has done amazing job considering Stuart former premership winning coach.

Flanno has recruited well and dividends have shown in juniors winning both Ball/Matthews last year both in finals again this year, these players will start to come through system, the Toyota Cup team won all games so far this year.

So things in future are looking good we still need to recruit smart but not in mass.

The one thing going against Flanno and if we havent won comp by end of 2017 even if we make finals both years, he will have been at the club for 7-8 years depending on suspension, a long time without the title.

If thats the case Gorman should sit and down and see if Flanno wants another role in club as he shown what he can do in recruitment, and will also allow us to see how John Morris has been going, if he has done a job bringing the kids through he could get the role.

I just hope the club is not looking forward ie in 1 year terms but 3-5 years, i want us to continue to grow and be successful

Man who has never been married said:
People hate Flanno for his mistake he made in 2011. I'd hate to marry someone like that. What a grudge.
hahahaha.

Mate your future wife will remind you of every mistake you ever make, at the right time. They have a knack for it.

What Flanno did is the equivalent of cheating, and they do not forget that EVER, nor does any bloke. Might forgive but never forget.

I do have some things I like about Flanno, Loots being one, but the stain he gave the club and players, can never forgive.

Just and old fashioned guy I guess. If my wife cheated, sacked she would be.

Depends who you are I guess
Some blame him solely
Some don't

Does everyone hate dessie as much ?
He had dank for years.
A manly official apparently warned us about Dank
Why would he do that?
Only one reason

Yet if Des was our coach there be c**k flogging galore .

No one has put forward a genuine reason why he should be sacked.

Involvement in ASADA that brought the club to its knees & caused supporters like you & me countless heartache. He simply should not have been resigned during this period but it was politics.

I get the feeling someone has already given that reason.

Anyway, that's over..lets see what happens this year.

So why isn't there a sack Gal and Graham thread? Why is everyone cool with John Morris coaching 20's?

If you rid one source, you need to rid them all.

Why don't we blame Damian Irvine? After all it happened under his watch where (in hindsight) there were obvious deficiencies upstairs. I won't though, the bloke gave his left nut and then some for the club and saved it from extinction on more than one occasion, we wouldn't even be arguing becuase we wouldnt f**king be here to argue.

The person to blame is Elk. He brought the guy in under his insistence and then blew the f**king whistle when the shit hit the fan. Flanno was a new coach with a hard job as it was as we had no f**king money and no boss.

People tend to forget the fine details. I don't believe they were cheating, just trying to get the upper hand on there supps program that was in place in every NRL club in the comp.
